David Plouffe interviewed Rick Wilson on his podcast Campaign HQ. Really interesting conversation

on defeating Trump and actions, strategies the Lincoln Project will be taking. For instance, Rick said they've placed the Mourning in America ad in Michigan and Wisconsin on local TV stations.

The Lincoln Project’s Rick Wilson joins David to discuss the Lincoln Project’s Mourning In America ad, and Trump’s reaction. The Lincoln Project’s mission statement is to “Defeat President Trump and Trumpism at the ballot box.” and adds that “electing Democrats who support the Constitution over Republicans who do not is a worthy effort.”

City of Stillwater drops mask requirement after businesses threatened

An emergency declaration that took effect at midnight Friday has been amended after businesses reported their employees were being threatened with physical harm by members of the public who didn't want to wear face coverings.

The changes make the wearing of face coverings in retail establishments optional rather than mandatory for customers, although it is still strongly recommended, employees are still required to wear them and the proclamation is extended to 11:59 p.m. May 31.

City Manager Norman McNickle issued a statement about the change and the controversy surrounding mandatory face coverings: “In the short time beginning on May 1, 2020, that face coverings have been required for entry into stores/restaurants, store employees have been threatened with physical violence and showered with verbal abuse. In addition, there has been one threat of violence using a firearm. This has occurred in three short hours and in the face of clear medical evidence that face coverings helps contain the spread of COVID-19.

“Many of those with objections cite the mistaken belief the requirement is unconstitutional, and under their theory, one cannot be forced to wear a mask. No law or court supports this view. In fact, a recent Federal lawsuit against Guthrie’s face covering order was fully dismissed by the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma.

They just keep tweeting the quiet part out loud

https://twitter.com/Wilson__Valdez/status/1256273427264086016

I love how these people just keep tweeting out loud the 'quiet' part. But sure...yeah, it's not about politics or anything, just principle. Sureeee.

@nathanjrobinson centrists hate social democracy so much that they were willing to jettison every single basic moral principle, down to "sexual assault is disqualifying and you shouldn't dismiss and smear accusers" rather than considering nominating the guy who wants free healthcare

That playbook seems pretty straightforward indeed. And it's hard to divorce this from what sure looks like an attempt by some Sanders die-hards to get through a media-driven scandal what they couldn't get via democratic means: their guy as the nominee.
