Gov. Greg Abbott won't fight new Bexar County move to require masks in San Antonio area businesses

Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff issued an order Wednesday mandating that businesses require customers and employees to wear masks after Gov. Greg Abbott once again refused to allow local authorities to make the requirement mandatory for all residents.

“The action that I’m taking today may be pushing the legal bounds a little bit,” Wolff said. “But our attorneys believe we can defend this order in court.”

A spokesman for Abbott’s office said Wolff’s workaround is all right by Abbott — leaving the door open for other counties to take the same steps.

“Judge Wolff’s order is not inconsistent with the governor’s executive order,” Abbott spokesman John Wittman said.

Under Wolff’s order, businesses have until Monday to adopt “health and safety” policies that require masks for customers and workers or they risk a $1,000 fine.

Article might be behind paywall. There will be no jail time for mask violations. (Abbott stated he was against jail for mask violations..duh...so am I..It's about public health, not law and order and it's about the greater good. A few bad apples or people who cannot tolerate masks won't ruin our health) Penalties will be imposed on businesses, not consumers.

Haa!! I did that Obama Day thing!

Posted Obama pics on Trumps Twitter

I'm so juvenile

I like presidents who can walk down steps (pic of Obama exiting AF 1)
I like presidents who attend the WH Correspondents Dinner (gif of Obama at WH Correspondents)
I like president who can run (gif of Obama and Biden running)

Then I tweeted an ugly gif of Trumps scalp.

Human remains found at the Daybell home

Human remains have been found at an Idaho man’s home that was searched Tuesday during an investigation into the disappearance of his new wife’s two children – a case that has vexed investigators since last year and attracted worldwide attention.

Chad Daybell, who recently married the children’s mother, Lori Vallow Daybell, was taken into custody, according to police in the small town of Rexburg. He has not been charged, and his attorney, Mark Means, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Seven-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan haven’t been seen since September, and police say both Chad and Lori Daybell lied to investigators about the children’s whereabouts. Besides the missing children, the couple has been under scrutiny following the deaths of both of their former spouses and drew attention for their doomsday beliefs.

Rexburg police, along with investigators from the FBI and the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, were searching Chad Daybell’s home in the eastern Idaho town of Salem for the second time. The search warrant is sealed, and Rexburg Assistant Police Chief Gary Hagan said in a statement that he couldn’t reveal details other than to say the search was linked to the disappearance of the children.

About LeftInTX

Always a Democrat. I can't understand conservatives. I try to understand them, but I can't. They don't make sense. Our country has gone so far right since 1981. I was just an average American who took many Democratic values for granted when Reagan was elected. It was like the rug was pulled out from under our society. Reagan ruined our country.
