Not my idea of fun. Sorry.

Today is the feast of the Epiphany.

"We three kings from Orient are; Bearing gifts we travel afar."

In his homily our priest inferred that the Magi visited the child Jesus two years after the birth of the child.
I don't know about that.

Surely, the Holy Family would not still be living in a stable two years after the birth of Christ, nor did the priest infer that they were.
After all, Joseph had a marketable skill - carpentry.

Does anyone out there have more insight into the timing of the coming of the Three Kings?

You're correct to fight back against all the maladies out there,

and aren't we aware of more and more than we ever were?

I do feel that using my mind to compose readable and reasonable posts on DU and the local LTE, etc. is somehow one way to keep the neurons zinging back and forth somewhat longer.
Please tell me when my comments and responses no longer make any sense, especially when it happens for the 5th consecutive time!

You are so correct re Sandra Day O'Connor

I get so disgusted when she is portrayed as a heroine because she was the first woman to serve on the Supreme Court.

Similarly, I an disgusted when Colin Powell is held up as someone to be emulated, when he let all humanity down when he could have prevented a tragedy.

Wouldn't be surprised if this poor mother can not deal with

the fact that Jahi expressed concern/fear of the operation just before surgery and the mother likely assured her that all would be fine.
Anyone can understand her feelings.

However, these experiences of parents' "failing" (in the parent's mind) their children happens often and throughout history.
Now, she's so deep into all this, getting encouragement from the Like of the Terry Schiavo Foundation, she's not in touch with those who can offer her realistic advice.

Poor soul.

If forgetfulness, especially, is a sign of dementia, I'm a little late

to the cure.
My mother had dementia in her later years, so I'm expecting it bye and bye.
A good incentive to be nice to one's children.

I had the shingles vaccine administered by a CVS pharmacist a few months ago-

I was told the cost of that vaccine is $250, but I had to pay nothing - Medicare and Humana Advantage.
Had the pneumonia vaccine a few yrs ago.

I imagine $500K doesn't buy much more than your average

upscale house in NJ.
In Midwest, where I live $500K buys a very nice house or condo, but face it, homes of that value are sold every day and no one blinks an eye.
Do you ever watch HGTV, where people are buying and selling homes? It's every day business that these couples/families have been approved for huge mortgages, up to $1M. So somebody is paying the big prices, and on a regular basis.
