Think about what you would like to say to her.

Are there questions you'd like to ask about her life - growing up, meeting and dating your Dad, having her and raising her children?
What would you like to know about her parents -your grandparents- and her grandparents?
Tell her that now that you have a little girl, you'd like to pass on those stories to your child.

(I can't tell you how many people wish they had asked their parents some of these questions before the parents were gone.

Then ask her if she'd mind if you called every few days or so.

Sad to say, I get very few youngsters in the last few years. - Maybe 4-8 total

We used to get at least 25, sometimes 50.

For that reason, I buy candy that I'll enjoy myself when it's left over.

Dear God, spare your people.

Have mercy on us.
We may have done evil throughout our history, and even now.
But this man may destroy our spirit completely.
Amen.

Thank you for this apology, Steve.

Even when ill, one can say or do hurtful things.
When that happens, an apology is in order.
I'm glad and grateful that you have risen to that occasion.

DU is family. Family stick together and forgives as necessary and moves on.
You, Steve, are an important part of the DU family, and we want you here with us, contributing as you do, to our awareness, and to support one another.

Thank you for being you, Steve.

As I understand it, Marta is employed and may not always be around when Steve posts.

I'm thinking/hoping he could choose one or more trusted compatriots here on DU to act as a filter when his own filter is out of kilter.
We all want Steve to continue - he is a great contributor on various levels as well as a good, big-hearted person.

I objected online to that photo, and let him know. He was still persisting in defending it at that time.
Even though I was aware of his illness, the photo should not have appeared and needed to be taken down.

An apology wouldn't hurt.

Hope all have a good night's sleep and that all is well in the morning.

I don't even know what you're talking about.

I don't read or take part in the Primaries (Forum) or indulge in the back and forth re the various candidates.
I just believe this is partisanship gone too far.
These posts are kept forever on the internet and bound to be noticed and come back to haunt Democrats in general by our real enemies, the Republicans.
