I had a bad cat experience when my daughter left her cat with me for a weekend.

Too long to relate , but it ended up circling me with its back arched and tail up.
I called my son to come get it; that I would pay any boarding costs to get it out of my house.
He returned it to daughter's basement.

Bottom line - no cats in my house.

I don't mind other people's cats; live and let live.

Thanks for adding the site, kentauros. Oh, Fox would mention it,

all right. In fact, Fox would likely (try to) take credit for such an occasion even happening.

Mountain lions would be great, but I did see a sandhill crane twice

during my recent stay in Florida, and that made my day(s).
Loved observing the anhinga hanging out its wings to dry, and the herons just hanging out.

I would expect any address by Pope Francis to be pastoral and conciliatory.

Although there are many sinners in Congress, he would not call them out. His message would be in keeping with his Jesuit training and his patron Francis of Assissi, fostering social justice and human dignity and love for the least among us.

I posted a similar notice in the Interfaith group, noting that Pope Francis wishes to attend the The World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia in Sept. 2015, so a visit to DC at the time would not be difficult to plan.
Meantime, our US President is scheduled to meet with Pope Francis later this year.

Pope Francis would like to attend The World Meeting of Families in Sept. 2015

in Philadelphia. If that comes to pass, it would be an ideal time for him to come to DC to address the joint meeting of Congress.
He could also possibly address the General Assembly of the United Nations in NYC, as I believe Pope John Paul II did on one of his visits to North America.

Boehner is correct in highlighting the Pope's messages on human dignity, freedom and social justice, and I would expect that any address he would deliver would be in that pastoral and conciliatory tone. He would not excoriate the sinners among the Congressional delegations, though there are many of all political parties.

Whether or not John Boehner would still be House Speaker when the Pope would visit is problematic, but at present 31% of Congress professes to be Catholic, which is a greater number than the percentage of Catholics in the U.S., believed to be no more than 24-25%.

Thank you, hrmjustin, for posting this today. I posted a similar notice, though briefer, last evening in GD, but my skills in citing sources are not so developed, so mine didn't get much attention. The Interfaith group is an appropriate place for this OP.

The World Meeting of Families will take place in Philadelphia in Sept. 2015.

Pope Francis has expressed interest in attending.
Civic leaders in Philadelphia would like that to happen, while mindful of the many logistical problems involved.

If the Pope comes to the US in Sept 2015, could he also speak to the United Nations in New York City?
I believe John Paul II spoke before the General Assembly of the UN during a visit to the US.

Speaker Boehner has issued a formal and open invitation to Pope Francis

to speak before a joint session of Congress, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
It would be the first appearance of a Pope before a joint session of Congress.
