Apparently this was done in downtown Cincinnati also, as shown on the

11 p.m. news.

I intend to do some positive things that I've not done so often lately.

Ex. Getting to bed earlier than had been my wont; that will enable me to get a longer night's sleep and to attend weekday Mass more frequently.
My history of denying myself is not so great. Not at all successful in giving up desserts, etc.; I simply forget when I see something tasty.

No need for envy - the pay wasn't that great. - just pin money really.

You, on the other hand, probably got out of some classes - not all bad, either.

I constructed and produced (read: typed) catalogue cards as cataloger in the 70's.

I never wanted to be a cataloger, but was offered the part-time job with the local Historical Society while I was getting my Library Science degree.
I also filed the cards after producing them.
After a few years, the format for catalogue cards changed and I knew it was time to move on.

Today I only infrequently visit a library or read books, because everything I need is online and more current than most (but not all) of the materials offered in libraries.

Four years Latin, French - 4 yrs high school, 3 yrs College

I have always felt the Latin helped give me a command of English, where so many words have Latin roots.
The French language I enjoyed studying, but never could get past my Midwestern accent re speaking French, so didn't do it well.

I knew Mrs. Merkel was from E. Germany, but hadn't put 2+2 together to figure out that she would thus be fluent in Russian.
Also wasn't aware of Putin's time in Germany.
Thanks for passing this along.

I had a robo phone call today from one of the major unions asking me to phone my Senator,

Rob Portman, to ask him to support the measure in the Senate next week.
They connected me directly to Sen. Portman's office, where I expressed my support, after identifying myself by name and location.

Don't know if he'll change his vote, but it's an issue worth speaking up for.

Retired nuns, like all members of religious orders, share in the funds of their religious

communities, from various sources.

They do receive Social Security payments, based on their earnings, like all others who pay into the SSI system.
I presume the SSI payments are turned over to the order and used for the benefit of all.

There is also an annual national collection for the benefit of retired religious.

Spouse was an engineer = organized.

I'm so glad those things were taken care of, as one thing I hate is fumbling in wallets as the basket is making its way towards me. The basket is usually in front of me before I've located what needs to be found.
