Who is the likely Dem candidate in NH?

I believe the right Dem. in NH has at least as good a chance of winning as Toomey being defeated by Sestak, or Portman being defeated by Strickland, unless the Presidential election is a Dem. blowout, which I am not expecting at tis time.

Don't get me wrong, I'm voting for Dem. nominee for President and Dem for Ohio Senator, and hope Dems win both WH and the Senate, but have lived too long to get all starry-eyed re prospects.

Boy, girl, boy, girl.

As I inferred, all very different personality styles.
Both boys/brothers left the area in young twenties, younger sister eventually left after divorce.
I- female- had married a man who had relocated from the East Coast & made his career with a major corporation in the area.

I wish I could offer some words to you re your sister and your need for family.
With her husband in an assisted-living facility, she may have quite a burden to handle, even though his physical needs are taken care of. Plus, you never know what might be going on with her daughters and their families, etc.

Many possibilities there for you re keeping doors open.

I have found- oddly enough- that many of my nieces and nephews have Facebook accounts, and by "friending" them, I'm able to get a little insight into what's going on in their lives and now and again offer encouraging comments on their doings and family accomplishments.
I know many people hate Facebook, and there is much to be avoided there, but, in this regard, it has proved useful to me.
I also post photos of some of our ancestors and family stories for the benefit of the younger generations, knowing that a lot of information will be gone when I go. I think and hope that contributes to a sense of family.

I do not get into political dialogue with them, as many are conservative, some in the extreme. Even with my own conservative son, we just don't go there, as our familial regard is more important to us than politics, and we both know that discussions are not productive. He is a good person, and that is good enough for me.

The best choice is to get a recommendation frm a friend, neighbor, church group.

Recommendations are necessary to insure that it is someone you want having access to your home.
If an independent, you should make sure they are individual contractor, i.e., paying necessary taxes and social security, etc., in order to relieve yourself of responsibility in that area.
My ladies are independent contractors who advertise their services on Craig's List; because English is not their first language, my daughter takes the calls & explains their services to would be clients; in return she gets a free cleaning every 4-6 weeks.

Yes, it is customary that the first cleaning is a "deep" cleaning and more costly, after which they revert to regular service and a lower price.
I've never used Merry Maids.

I still consider Colin Powell, despite all his soft talking, one of the worst

instigators of the whole Iraq mess.

Yes, he knew the evidence was not there, despite his presentation to the U.N.

What really bothers me about Republicans and the Iraq War is

that they never speak up and take action re paying ($) for the whole mess and its aftermath.

Thank God. The thought of John Bolton popping up on my TV

every now and again would be disheartening.

Even now, between all the Republican candidates and the Republican Senate, Republican House, and all their darn think-tanks and "Conservative" meetings, I have to turn-off C-Span more than I would like prefer.
