That is one of the saddest stories I have ever read.

So many family members affected so drastically.
Having to live through the tragedy of your father's death, knowing that he had suffered so badly in his care for his wife.

Although it is common for Alzheimer's patients to act bizarrely and antagonistically, that is not always the case. Some just become sort of lost and unable to understand what is happening and then they have fears and anxiety.

Of course, there is the "sundown effect", wherein they become agitated and need extra care at night.

This all likely happened to you and your family within in the last few years, as you indicate that your mother is still alive.
I sincerely hope you and your family can find peace as you and she go through the final stages of her disease.

Is theFederalist.com connected with the Federalist Society?

And, if so, why are we reading it on DU?

I hadn't given it a thought until you brought it up here.

Many of the posts in the religion room are of no interest to me, and I basically skip them.

I had posted one comment on a OP related to the one you are referencing, and then let it go.

Besides which, about six of the regulars there make up my ignore list.

I come to DU for information and to support people and causes that are either important or needing support.

Aren't a large number of those 3.814 believers in many gods?

Hindus, shintoists, animists, many others - is it correct to call them atheists because they are not monotheists?

Sounds as though this may be the best for all concerned -

rsmith- gets former job back after finding the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the street;
Old boss - glad to have you back;
Current boss -didn't have to fire you when found out you and he were "uncompatible."

Good luck in you new/old job!

Thank goodness no casino near Gettysburg Battlefield as well.

Apparently there are enough opponents to keep casinos out of the immediate area.

All casino licenses for PA are taken, and with casinos not getting the revenue that was expected, it's not likely that there will be anytime soon/

Thanks for clarification. Orange county, VA, etc. mentioned.

According to Wikipedia, Walmart opened there in 2013.

Respectfully, not Gettysburg, PA.

I am no fan of Walmart.

I was just in Gettyburg 6 weeks ago and didn't see Walmart.

We did the auto-tour of the battlegrounds and visited the Eisenhower farm, etc.
I couldn't swear a Walmart wasn't there, but it didn't catch my eye.

You're assuming he is mentally stable.

I'm not so confident.
Bet he is hard to live with.
Remember - his wife tried to shush him in the theater, etc.
