No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalHe had name recognition from his father, and he ran against a despicable Republican incumbent.
He's young, good-looking, and fairly non-confrontational.
He handled covid very well, with frequent public information pressers, and he has handled two huge natural disasters, one at each end of his lengthy state, very well.
Signatures change; People have strokes and have to switch to other hand for writing; arthritis in
hand or wrist changes signatures. Younger voters may not be using cursive writing but print their names instead.
Family lost use of her hand and arm because of a stroke. She now prints her name with other hand.
Signature matching is not an exact science.
Nixon had a trained mind; he was educated as an attorney. Even though he chose to ignore the law,
he knew the difference.
Trump, despite having an undergraduate degree, does not have a disciplined mind, which one normally acquires through education.
Trump operates on an instinctual level, whereby his appetites- greed, selfishness, pride, etc. dominate and activate him.
We need to hear from his constituents, particularly those who voted for Santos and whom he will be
representing in the US House of Representatives.
Some will say they wanted a Republican in office, regardless of what type of person he is, etc.
Others will be repulsed or scandalized by his lies and "embellishment".
The Republican establishment needs to hear how they think and feel now that Santos' story and resume has changed so completely.
Republicans may fine that retaining him may be more damaging than having him resign and finding another candidate.
Keep up the publicity on this fraud-person.
When the temps are freezing and below, I don't worry if the trash doesn't get set out -
It's too cold to rot and stink!
That doesn't happen often as family and neighbors usually help me with set-out & return, but it's a consoling thought on those rare times when I miss garbage pickup day.
I'm grateful for a tolerably-warm enough house and layering clothes while inside.
Still have plenty to prepare for Christmas Day which family will celebrate at my home.
3 degrees at 2:30 a.m. in SW Ohio; going to -2 by dawn 7a.m.
I'll be staying in until after Christmas, likely missing Christmas Mass for the first time in 80+ years.
Cannot tolerate cold temps at my age.
When the sun shines, the house is tolerable; when the weather is gloomy - the chill pervades.
Next week Thurs./Friday - will be up in the 40's, maybe even 50s during the day.
I'm sure these "professionals" know what to look for - a long business-style envelope,
often with a pre-printed address on it.
Every day I get charity requests in the mail, with self-addressed and often pre-stamped envelopes.
Seniors - like me- often don't have the apps like Venmo, etc. so broadly used now. If fact, I'm still using - because I prefer it- a flip phone, so I likely am not even able to get these apps.
Many seniors - like me- don't leave their homes very often, so I leave out-going mail in my box, which my postmen pick up. Luckily I know the regular one, so trust the mail will be taken to post office, which it always has been.
This happened to me and to a local friend as well, each of us for 5-figure losses from our accounts.
It's happening all of the country; the Postal Service is well aware of this problem.
Mailmen are being robbed of their keys to outside mail drop boxes; thieves then use these at night to get inside the boxes and steal the mail within.
Because I check my balances most days, I discovered the loss and reported it to my local bank the next day. Apparently this is a large-scale operation; my altered check was cashed at a third party bank, which made that bank liable. The theft was in May and the full amount was covered by the third party insurance and returned to me by late August.
Outgoing mail should be taken inside a post office or given directly to the delivery postman.
