Do not take his inattention personally. Most likely he cannot help his present condition.

My spouse, at a much younger age, became completely listless and disinterested in everything for periods of several months, then would almost literally rebound and we would then take off for trips for awhile, then the disinterest in life would set in again for months.

Everyone, including physicians, thought it was depression, and he took meds and saw a psychiatrist for several years; even had an electroshock session.

Long story short, he was eventually diagnosed with a vascular/brain disease called amyloidal angiopathy, for which there is no cure, and after many years in long-term care, died of the condition.
All very sad, as he was a good man.

Your husband is an aging human being, likely with conditions beyond his control.
Do what you can for yourself and your own condition, and try to remove judgement from his inaction and sleeping.

Still up - in Ohio- 2:37a.m.

Wish I had better night habits.
DU is my last stop before tooth-brushing, etc.

+ 1. I live across the river in Ohio and McConnell's ads are running way too frequently.

Thank the good Lord for the invention of the remote.

Even McConnell's ads get no space in my home.

Likely that sleep apnea is at least part of the problem.

A CPAP is a wonderful thing; can give one back more of one's life.

There may be other underlying conditions as well, considering his age.

Hope you have a better night tonight, and going forward.

ER docs don't always get it right. I'm glad they're there to get us through the emergency situation, and glad when the tests show that the body will get through the episode.

Sometimes the tests show other conditions you didn't realize you had, as recently happened to me. Well, that's solid information I wouldn't have had otherwise. Now, to deal with the next episode. After a certain age, it's always something.

I liked the little rectangular boxes that held small wooden matches.

Of course, there were the large boxes that held large-size wooden matches, used to light some stoves and ovens, and other things, (I guess- part of the mysterious adult world at that time.)

Enjoyed seeing the wooden matches burn.

Keep lozenges with you and by your bedside.

Suck on one as needed, but especially at bedtime, to give a little coating to the throat as you relax to sleep.

The meds may take a little out of you physically for while you're taking them. Just go along for the ride.

You might ask you doctor for a little something for anxiety. I have been taking such for years, at bedtime, and it does make relaxing & sleep easier..

You do not need a resolution tonight. Put those concerns up on a closet shelf for tonight; pick them up tomorrow when ready.

Pray for our DUers who are in need at this time...

For DUers who are ill;

For DUers facing financial challenges;

For DUers beset by family and/or social problems;

For DUers who will be facing death, illnesses and other challenges of which they are not yet aware;

For DUers that are happy and productive in their lives; that they may continue in love and peace.

Amen.

My dear Sprinkle-

Let go, let God....

Ask help of Archangel Raphael, the patron of healing.
Raphael, stand by Sprinkle in her need.

"Mother Mary, show me the way".
This is a short prayer I made up. I have come to realize that Mary lived most of her life as a widow, though we do not hear this spoken of by our clergy. Surely there is much Mary can show us in how to live out that period of our lives as we are intended to do.

Give your body, mind and soul permission to take the break needed to recover.

Know that you are loved.

Be at peace.

Does Ann live in The Villages?

According to accounts on DU and elsewhere, The Villages in FL is a hotbed of Republicanism and all that goes with that.

The minority, Democrats there have a hard time, though they fight the good fight...
