The conference began with a discussion of a released hostage and the efforts to get another located and released. That's great for their families and I'm happy for them.
However, Shitler always has a plan in his prepared messaging. In my opinion, yesterday he was trying to reverse the adage said by Stalin that "the death of an individual is a tragedy but the death of millions is a statistic." Or words to the effect.
I look for this type of "happy" news to continue as he tries to mask his ineptness with anecdotal stories of individual bright spots while all the while standing up a Potemkin Village disguising the suffering of tens of thousands.
We are watching true Disaster Capitalists in play
right in front of us. The Reich Wing and the Drumpt/Kushner vampire grifters see the virus not as a public health crisis, but as a once in a 100 year opportunity to cash in on the misery and death of people they consider expendable anyway.
