kairos12
kairos12's JournalI played High Skool Football in Texas in the
early 1970s. 90 degrees and 90 percent humidity was the climate. All the while the Coaches denied water by screamig "water makes you weak and a coward."
To this day when I see people walk by with their water bottles there's a part of me that wants to yell "hey, can you spare a swig. Thirsty I am."
It was the time of Gunga Did n't Drink.
Manfred's Gift to Players
I heard on the RCA that Manfred gave all players a pair of Bose headphones as a gift. My guess is they were also noise canceling so the players wouldn't hear all the booing from the fans for the 99 day lockout, or whatever you call it.
Should have given a more powerful pair to the owners as well though.
Amazing!
The Yankees won 11 pennants in: 57,58, 60, 61,62,63, 64,76,77,78, and 81.
The Mets won pennants: 69 and 73.
As a player, coach, or manager Yogi Berra was a member of all these teams.
Today at the store
I saw sun glasses sold in 2 different sections.
Must be polarized.
Seth Beer on National Beer Walkoff
1st time in MLB History a rookie hit a walkoff, with his team behind (not tied), on Opening Day.
Input wanted on this. I read the entire Mueller Report.
Is there a legal reason (not a political one) why the Obstruction of Justice Charges discussed within the Report have not been offered as a rational for prosecution of Chump? If I recall right the charging decision was left up to Barr, couldn't the DOJ make a different charging now? It seems the advantage here these possible charges have been already thoroughly investigated. Then he was a sitting President, no longer applies except in MAGA fever world.
Serious question for me.
When offered, a rarity maybe,
snails for dining you might say, "no thanks, I prefer fast food."
What 2 teammates hold the record for combined HRS over the length of their careers together?
...Aaron and Mathews.
Bob Gibson
He once brushed back Reggie Jackson at an Old-Timers Game. Why?
Jackson took him deep at a previous Old-Timers Game.
One of my all time favorite ballplayers. Along with Joe Morgan.
