kairos12's JournalVets Can't Get Hired
In the local newspaper it said that local businesses won't hire vets because of concerns the returning troops might have PTSD.
Let me get this right, the famous "job creators" who waved flags, put on flag pins, put yellow ribbons on their escalades, made millions from war related contracts, shouted down war opponents, boycotted the Dixie Chicks now won't hire the very people they cheered off to war.
What disgusting people.
Pope and the Dirty War
A pretty comprehensive account of new Pope's activities during the Dirty War in Argentina. Takes into account competing views of his behavior. Make your own judgement.

No services in Detroit, Millions to Wall Street
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-03-14/only-wall-street-wins-in-detroit-crisis-reaping-474-million-fee.htmlsnip: The only winners in the financial crisis that brought Detroit to the brink of state takeover are Wall Street bankers who reaped more than $474 million from a city too poor to keep street lights working.
Gotta pay that debt, you know. A shining example of Disaster Capitalism.
Strange HTML Presentation
Do you know what is causing the site to come up as HTML? thanks
I am concerned for the safety of the 47% video individual.
Given the number of trolls, gun nuts, baggers, militia guys, and general wingers out there I fear the guy who made this film will have to go into the Witness Protection Program.
In our society the number of dangerous winged monkeys motivated by Ailes and Faux News is vast.
The Opposite of Ayn Ryan's Message

Sen. Bernie Sanders is leading the charge in the Senate to block any grand bargain that would cut Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security benefits
A progressive message to send Ryan's zombie budget back to its Randian grave.
Ryan's budget wages class warfare on behalf of the wealthy
http://www.slate.com/blogs/moneybox/2013/03/12/class_war_budgeting_paul_ryan_and_house_gop_want_more_money_for_the_rich.htmlsnip:
And judging by the budget he just released, the "how" here is pretty darn important. The budget will be balanced, if Ryan gets his way, through a campaign of thoroughgoing class warfare aimed at Americans in the bottom half of the income distribution in order to protect the interests of a small high income minority.
Hey Ryan, elections have consequences, and you, and your economic adviser Ayn Rand lost.
Get over it, and get lost.

In Las Vegas, More than 220 local FAA workers received notices that they will have to take some unpaid days off.

Didn't need to happen.
A coming plague called the Grand Bargain
http://www.salon.com/2013/03/11/the_undead_unnecessary_unhelpful_grand_bargain/snip:
This is awful news, for most people. A grand bargain is not going to be good. But after Barack Obama had fancy dinners with some Republicans last week, everyone is again hopeful. The president is hopeful. John Boehner is hopeful. David Gergen is probably hopeful. They can all taste the Bargain. Ooh, itll be so great when we get that Bargain!
Fancy dinners and the support of Boner and Gergen.
More like the Grand Sell-Out.
