I don't go out except when I have to, I'm retired and live alone so that helps. I had an appt at a local hospital/clinic today and that went fine but on the way home I was near to a WalMart and wanted to pick up a couple of replacement network cables...pulled into the lot and it was pretty much completely filled and I stopped and reconsidered. Did not see a single masked individual going in or out of the store. Listening to the local NPR radio in my car on the way I heard a report that the local hospitals and county health dept had upped the Covid 19 alert levels to "critical" and on a big upswing...Well, I didn't get out of my car and went home, just ordered the cables from evil Bezos, come in two days and likely cheaper than the giant WalMart petri dish..."my story, okay, I was born a poor white child"...
Does it bother anyone else that Jeffrey Toobin is back on CNN?
I used to really like the guy's analysis but I can't stand to look at him (so I don't)...I find it weird that all is forgiven after the incident involving himself in an online meeting...
Got the booster today...
Happy me, went to my local small town pharmacy to pick up a prescription and asked about the booster. They said this was their first day to give it and could do it now...got the Moderna booster, about two weeks past my 6 month anniversary. I'm still 64 but have an underlying condition...I didn't have to much reaction from the original shots other than some headaches for a week or so...hopefully nothing much from this one....
Hoping I got one of the good microchips this time....

Saw the long line of Starlink Satellites last night...
I am located in South Central Kansas near Wichita and about 10:00 pm last night (Friday) I saw these abominations. They followed a straight line out of the Northwest for about 2 minutes. As an amateur astronomer (I don't do astro photography for which these things are even worse, leaving streaks in photo images) the Musk alien invasion will definitely affect my observation and enjoyment of the night sky. There are thousands and thousands more to be launched and several other companies are planning similar launches. Great for internet access maybe (likely won't be low cost as touted and not work as well as touted either) but will make billionaires more billions...whoopee. Even with the modifications planned by Musk engineers to reduce reflectivity (doesn't really work well) the swarm of micro satellites will affect us all by compromising research by major earth based astronomical platforms. They were hauntingly pretty to watch, like a chain of pearls across the sky but knowing the increasing negative effects on scientific research, both professional level and amateur level I am fairly well disgusted. Rant over....

I am almost 4 weeks past my second Moderna shot and in ok health with a few exceptions (pre diabetic). In this red state no masks are required but I will still wear one. Social distancing is encouraged, the venue is outdoors with bring your own, lawn style seating. Probably a max of 100 spectators in an area large enough for me to distance myself. I will go alone and be careful (you can bring food and drink but they have several food trucks available). I really really want to go, it is a nationally known and semi retired bluegrass/variety performer and his band (Byron Berline Band), he just happens to live not too far away. The site is in a beautiful botanical garden setting. What say ye, safe to go?
I don't wish anyone illwill but I'm willing to make an exception for the Maskholes and Vaxholes...
I'm so tired of putting up with these ignorant people, at my apt complex, in the grocery store, at the hardware store and basically everywhere. They are selfish moronic fools who endanger us all...thanks evangelicals, republicans, con men and women, greedy business owners and others. Winter is still coming for many of them...
