This is why they hate Mr and Mrs Rogers.

Joanne Rogers, 92, is the wife of the late Fred Rogers, host of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, a popular children's show which aired for 31 seasons on TV
While her husband was famously apolitical throughout his career, Joanne Rogers felt compelled to speak out about President Trump
She slammed the president as a 'horrible person' and called him 'pathologically ill' on same day he held a rally in her late husband's hometown near Pittsburgh
Rogers said Trump's Democratic opponent, Joe Biden, reminded her of her late husband because of his kindness
She said Biden's outreach to a young boy with a stuttering problem is similar to her late husband's relationship with a quadriplegic who appeared on his show.

Trump Lashes Out at Fauci Amid Criticism of Slow Virus Response

Source: New York Times

WASHINGTON — President Trump publicly signaled his frustration on Sunday with Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the federal government’s top infectious disease expert, after the doctor said more lives could have been saved from the coronavirus if the country had been shut down earlier.

Mr. Trump reposted a Twitter message that said “Time to #FireFauci” as he rejected criticism of his slow initial response to the pandemic that has now killed more than 22,000 people in the United States. The president privately has been irritated at times with Dr. Fauci, but the Twitter post was the most explicit he has been in letting that show publicly.

The message Mr. Trump retweeted came from a former Republican congressional candidate. “Fauci is now saying that had Trump listened to the medical experts earlier he could’ve saved more lives,” said the tweet by DeAnna Lorraine, who got less than 2 percent of the vote in an open primary against Speaker Nancy Pelosi last month. “Fauci was telling people on February 29th that there was nothing to worry about and it posed no threat to the US at large. Time to #Fire Fauci.”

Trump to Fire Intelligence Watchdog Who Had Key Role in Ukraine Complaint

Source: NY Times

WASHINGTON — President Trump is firing the intelligence community inspector general whose insistence on telling lawmakers about a whistle-blower complaint about his dealings with Ukraine triggered impeachment proceedings last fall, the president told lawmakers in a letter late on Friday.

Mr. Trump is ousting the inspector general, Michael Atkinson, because he lost confidence in him, the president wrote in a letter to leaders of the two congressional intelligence committees. He gave no further explanation.

“As is the case with regard to other positions where I, as president, have the power of appointment, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, it is vital that I have the fullest confidence in the appointees serving as inspectors general,” Mr. Trump wrote. “That is no longer the case with regard to this inspector general.”

Trump's "The Bidens Made Me Do It" justification defense

was compared this morning on MSNBC to OJ’s “Investigate the Cops” defense. This is wrong because the Bidens are not the cops; they are the victims.

While it is true that during the Mueller probe Trump attacked the federal police (Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Page, etc.), a more accurate analogy to his impeachment defense would have featured Cochran and Dershowitz calling for an investigation of Mrs. Simpson and Mr. Goldman in order to get to the bottom of what they were doing.

Conservative radio host wishes for a 'nice school shooting' to distract from impeachment

Source: Washington Post

As Chuck Bonniwell welcomed listeners to his Colorado talk-radio show back from a break just after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, he laughed as he introduced a segment discussing the “never-ending impeachment of Donald Trump.”
“You know,” he said, “you wish for a nice school shooting" to interrupt the nonstop impeachment coverage.

His wife and co-host Julie Hayden immediately jumped in and cut him off.
“No, no, don’t even — don’t even say that,” she said. “No, don’t even say that. Don’t call us, Chuck didn’t say that."

The radio station said the “Chuck & Julie” show would be replaced by former White House aide Sebastian Gorka’s “America First” program starting Thursday.

McConnell: 'I was not given an explanation' for Ukraine aid delay

Source: The Hill

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said he was not provided an explanation for why the Trump administration held up aid to Ukraine when he pressed senior officials on the matter over the summer.

"I was not given an explanation," McConnell told reporters Tuesday as the congressional furor grew over President Trump's interactions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

McConnell said he spoke to Secretary of Defense Mark Esper and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo twice about the matter without receiving clarification for the delay in $391 million in aid to Ukraine.

"I was very actively involved in advocating [for] the aid. I talked to the secretary of Defense, the secretary of State once," he said.
