BREAKING SCANDAL: Rubio seems to have been naughty

Source: The Political Insider

BOMBSHELL Report Against Marco Rubio – This Changes EVERYTHING!

Details of the forthcoming scandal are not yet clear, although the allegation involving Rubio and the female lobbyist is reportedly being leaked to “multiple mainstream media outlets” this week.

FITS showed the webpage we were provided to a presidential operative in early-voting South Carolina. This operative – who has worked on more than one presidential campaign during the current election cycle – confirmed that the woman on the webpage was “a focus” of opposition research against Rubio, however they declined to elaborate on what was uncovered.

All the operative would say was that the woman was identified by researchers during a deep dive into Rubio’s disastrous personal finances.

The Problem I've Always Had With Hillary Clinton

I like Hillary Clinton and I'd vote for her over anyone on the Right in a heartbeat. I have no interest in the faux "scandals" the Right-wing hate machine churns out year after year. My complaint is that Hillary Clinton, much like Bill Clinton, is a corporate Democrat. She has done the calculation that Wall Street will back someone on the Left and someone on the Right. She wants to tap into all that Wall Street cash even though you and I and she knows the strings that come with that cash. Of course Bernie Sanders supporters are licking their chops at this analysis of Clinton but even though I completely support the ideas Bernie has put forward, without support from establishment Democrats and even a few fed-up Republicans, Bernie will spend 4 years being blocked at every turn much like Obama has been.

So tell me, do I support the corporate Democrat or the guy nobody will work with?

Megyn Kelly Getting Death Threats From Trump Supporters

I'm thinking back and trying to remember the last debate moderator that ever received death threats and I am coming up blank. Maybe in the 1800's at some point? Trump supporters are certifiably wing nuts with anger issues. Well Fox, you created the beast now deal with it.

Let's Give the Republicans Something to Worry About

FDR was our last 4 time elected president then the office was changed to only allow a person to serve as president 2 terms. Lets start a petition to go back to the 4 term allowance. That'll drive Republicans crazy. Who is with me

Trump: The Politics of the Past

Just as Hitler took advantage of a long history of anti-Semitism to rise to power in Germany, Donald Trump is taking advantage of a long history of anti-immigrant feelings that have been openly part of the American culture since we formed this nation. The similarities between then and now are striking and no less dangerous today than they were back in Hitler’s day.

I know that comparing modern day figures to the German Nazis is a popular meme and in most cases, without validity, but that doesn’t preclude the comparison from ever being apt. Occasionally, we are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past when we forget those lessons or enough time has passed that we simply cannot see those lessons as relevant to our modern society. What doesn’t change over that period of time is human nature. We are more or less the same people we were less than a century ago. We have prejudices, fears, and are not above blaming others for our problems.

Hitler characterized the Jews in Europe as diseased criminals responsible for all of Germany’s problems. He exaggerated and exploited isolated instances of crime or immoral behavior just like Trump exaggerates and exploits isolated instances of undocumented immigrant crimes. The truth is that the 500,000 Jews in Germany in the 1930’s were almost indistinguishable from the rest of the German population. They were middle class, academics, professionals, and mostly lived in urban centers. The truth of undocumented immigrants in this country is that they are less likely to commit crimes than the population as a whole while working hard at low-wage jobs, without benefits, and always in danger of being deported. They are not more likely to come here carrying diseases, or commit murders, or rape as Donald Trump has repeatedly characterized them.

Hitler also threatened his European neighbors and eventually invaded them. Trump has openly accused the Mexican Government of sending these immigrants across the border and has also said that they are sending the worst elements of Mexican society north. Hitler’s Nazi Party drew their support not from the intellectuals of German society but largely from the uneducated, unemployed, disaffected Germans that had experienced the crushing poverty that resulted from Germany’s WWI reparation payments. Trump’s supporters are a disaffected segment of American society that already fear immigrants, thrive on low-information cable news programs, and are for the most part, older white Americans that have suffered financially from the Great Recession.

The term “scapegoating” is often associated with Hitler’s treatment of the European Jewish population. Is there really any difference between Donald Trump’s treatment of the Mexican undocumented population in this country and the treatment Hitler rained down on the European Jewish population prior to and during WWII? Is Trump’s rhetoric any less inflammatory than Hitler’s was? Isn’t the goal in both cases the leadership of the most powerful military nation on the planet? The human race simply can’t afford another charismatic leader willing to say anything to achieve ultimate power.

Roof's Parents

Has anyone seen either of Dylann Roof's parents come out and apologize for his murderous rampage? I haven't but if you have, please post it. I find it unusual that parents wouldn't say something about an act of violence like this like so many in the past have done. I mean, they raised this little f'ing loser and put a gun in hands and I haven't heard squat from them. I did hear that the dad and the uncle called in the tip that identified him from the AME video camera. Anybody find their silence a bit odd?

Stop Talking About Saving the Planet

The planet will be just fine! The people, on the other hand, have a less bright future unless we start really pressing the climate change issues causing the problem. It is more than a coincidence that the Koch brothers deny climate change is being caused by carbon pollution when their industry is the prime reason we are experiencing climate change in the first place. It is also more than a coincidence that everyone in the GOP that is denying climate change exists are heavily influenced by Koch financed organizations. Could the link be any clearer? We own the planet, not the Koch brothers. They don't get to destroy it on their way out.

IMO Too Often Democrats March Out The Circular Firing Squad During Important Elections

Dear Fellow Democrats,

I am already seeing the guns being loaded, the blindfolds being tied, the line of soldiers being marched out to the courtyard, the circle being formed, and the "Ready, Aim, Fire!" order being loudly proclaimed as we again do what Democrats routinely do during important elections...Shoot ourselves in the back.

Just for once, can we please show up and vote for the person with the best chance to win regardless of who we would rather see run? Can we please just stop handing the GOP easy victories because we didn't get everything we wanted? Can we please face the reality that the perfect candidate isn't running or likely to win but we still have a horse in the race that we shouldn't give up on?

The election is only the fist step. Even if our candidate wins, we have to keep pushing that person to do what we as progressives want them to do. They are not saviors and merely electing them is not supposed to be the end of the process. If Hillary Clinton or whoever is elected, we have to continue to demand the things we want or the election serves no purpose.

All too often Democrats think that the person they elect is going to be their savior and they walk away leaving the task to whomever they elect. Stay engaged and push as hard as you can to achieve the kind of society that we know we are capable of. Big money cannot compete with an engaged electorate. Stay focused, stay engaged, and never stay home from the polls for any reason.

Thank you.
