Veteran Podcasts

I have to spend a lot of time in a car so Ive just started using podcasts.

Hazard Ground is one that I listen to. No politics just stories of vets who now work with organizations that help other vets.
The vets come on and tell their story and then tell about the orgs they work with.

Any others that you guys listen to?

Dixie Chicks

While some NYC folks may make dumb fucking comments about southern democracts..

So if you are doing that, check in and let us know.

Otherwise well start telling jokes.

+1 ma'am

RIP SSG Fronius 7th Special Forces 1987 E-Salv

I always knew that there was more to the story. It was on CNN the other night.

SSG Fronius was part of a Mobile Training Team that was betrayed by a Cuban spy working for the DIA. Anna Montes

She had strong objections to our presence in Central American and Cuba but she didn't use any of the avenues to address her concerns. She didn't notify her chain of command, didn't leak anything, didn't do any of the things.

She sat across from that team and betrayed them.

Kudos to the DIA counterintelligence agent who made her pay

Beirut Marine Barracks Bombing Fast Facts

CNN Library
(CNN) -- Here is a look at what you need to know about the 1983 bombing at a Marine compound in Beirut, Lebanon that killed 241 U.S. service personnel.

Facts:
October 23, 1983 - 241 U.S. service personnel -- including 220 Marines and 21 other service personnel -- are killed by a truck bomb at a Marine compound in Beirut, Lebanon. Three hundred service members had been living at the four-story building at the airport in Beirut. There were 1,800 Marines stationed in Beirut at the time.

A multi-national force with units from France, Italy and the United Kingdom was also on peacekeeping duty in Lebanon at the same time. At the same time the Marine barracks was hit, a suicide bomber drove a pickup truck full of explosives and crashed into a building housing French paratroopers. Approximately 58 French soldiers were killed in the attack.
