House votes 275-134 for $2000 checks. The ball is now in the Turtle's court.

The Democratic-led House of Representatives voted 275-134 to meet President Trump's demand for $2,000 COVID-19 relief checks, sending the measure to an uncertain future in the Republican-controlled Senate https://reut.rs/3rzzcsh

There's no way for McConnell to "win" on the $2000 checks, and he'll take the survival path.

#1: Don't bring it to the Senate floor for a vote at all, a very likely option, certainly in keeping with his ongoing modus operandi. He'll come up with an excuse for doing so, most likely "not ballooning the deficit," already ballooned by Paul Ryan's tax cuts for millionaires.

#2: Bring it to the Senate floor and strong-arm Republicans into voting for it in the name of saving the two Georgia seats, and his majority.

#3 Bring it to the Senate floor and have it sink faster than the Trump impeachment vote. Those who have already been mentally spending the $2000 will be enraged, which doesn't leave Mitch smelling like a rose.

I don't think he gives a thought to pissed off people, as long as they're pissed off and keeping him in his "Leader" seat.

I don't think he'll allow it to come up for a vote.

THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS for a Republican who feels icky after Trump's maskless Hanukkah party

"The vice chairman of the Massachusetts Republican State Committee is battling COVID-19 after attending what he described as a largely maskless holiday party at the White House earlier this month," the Boston Globe reported Saturday. "Mountain, 60, who was hospitalized twice in recent weeks, said he likely contracted the coronavirus at the annual White House Hanukkah party. The event took place amid the worst surge in COVID-19 this country has seen since the pandemic began."

"I didn't listen to the warnings of my own family, and now I'm paying the price," Mountain admitted. ""No one can ever say for sure exactly where they got it, but I'll say this: Before the party, I was in perfectly good health. Three days later, I was in the hospital with COVID, and it was all downhill from there."

"It's not fun," Mountain said." I came very close — not once but twice — to them hooking me up to a ventilator."

"There are good days and bad days, but today I'm having a bad day," he explained. "I have horrible coughing fits, sweating profusely. … I couldn't even talk on the phone last week, but it's getting a bit better."

McConnell's "concession" was that he wanted $300 checks. $2000 checks were never going to happen.

I'm a little stunned that the conversation is even happening. There was no way in hell that Republicans were going to sign off on $2000 checks. It seems like this was all just a convenient way for Trump to publicly spank McConnell while playing to his base.

The "Will Trump come back from Mar-a-Lago at all" thing

I think he will, for one simple reason. He's raking in so much cash from the MAGAts that he won't do anything to jeopardize that. He's going to pull this nonsense right up to 12 noon on January 20th, will probably schedule his own "counter programming event" shit show at the same time as Biden's inauguration, and at 12 noon, it will be Phase 2 of his mission to be the most annoying fuck on the planet.

Even though the White House issued a statement saying he's now at Mar-a-Lago "working tirelessly and taking many phone calls and meetings," and that DOES set up a scenario for him finishing his term at "The Winter White House" (can't wait for THAT to be retired),
I think he will be back at the White House simply because it maximizes his "send me money so I can fight election fraud" scam.

I literally cannot wait to witness Letitia James in action beginning at 12:01 PM on January 20th.

Via Mediaite, James told SiriusXM host Dean Obeidallah this week that the president deserves to be roundly condemned for hosting a summit at the White House this week that included former national security adviser Mike Flynn, who has been openly advocating for the president to declare martial law to remain in power.

"The reality is is that this is an act of sedition," she said. "This president is engaging in illegality, and the fact that he would even consider martial law is an affront to our values, and to the Constitution."

"It's fundraising," she said. "That's all that this is. Fundraising. And that's all that he cares about. He's in the White House, and he stews on the fact that he's a loser, and he lost this election, and unfortunately he's finding it hard to accept. He lost."

Trump, MPMGA (Making Perjury & Murder Great Again)

I'd say the least shocking person on the list was Coffee Boy.

My prediction is that you haven't seen the most outrageous pardons yet. I've seen teasers about him planning "Christmas Eve Pardons" and the idea that Barr is leaving tomorrow in order to distance himself from them. Regardless of that, trust me, the worst is yet to come.

Princess Ivanka attends charity food give-away, dad calls in with words of hope & Christmas cheer

https://www.rawstory.com/elections/trump-election-conspiracy/

Video posted by WPLG Local 10 reporter Saira Anwer shows Ivanka at the event putting her father on speakerphone so that he could presumably thank the volunteers for their work in feeding hungry Floridians.

"They dumped hundreds of thousands of ballots, it was a rigged election!" the president fumed. "We got 75 million votes that's the most ever by a sitting president!"

"We're fighting very, very hard!" the president said.
