Well someone has to make money it and good for them

so answered a right-wing colleague when we were discussing the keystone xl pipeline.

They actually said it has passed but, Obummer is just going to veto it, and I said good, we don't need it and it would be terrible for America. The only people benefiting are the Kochs while they destroy America and that was the reply I got............

Well someone has to make money from it (and, of course, nothing about the lack of jobs, the destruction of the environment and that the "oil" is going to China).

I decided that it wasn't worth an argument in the work place and went back to work, but this is the way the RW think.......... someday I will be the rich one, someday I will be making boatloads like the Kochs and I won't say anything bad about them..... talk about delusional.

As sad and terrible the French killings are

On Saturday, Boko Haram militants seized the Nigerian Multi-National Joint Task Force Base in Baga, one of the few strategically significant towns still under the military control in the northeastern state of Borno. Borno’s senator, Ahmed Zanna, said that Nigerian soldiers deserted their posts, handing Boko Haram heavy weaponry and vehicles in the process. Locals say that militants razed 16 towns with petrol bombs and shot indiscriminately at civilians. As of Thursday, dozens of people are confirmed dead, 2,000 are missing, and an estimated 30,000 are displaced.

Is this a case of the repuke owned media not caring about Africa and Africans and stirring the pot because westernized France has a terror attack?

WASHINGTON — As Republicans prepare to take full control of Congress on Tuesday, the party’s leaders are counting on judges, not their newly elected majority on Capitol Hill, to roll back President Obama’s aggressive second-term agenda and block his executive actions on health care, climate change and immigration.

On health care, Republicans in Washington have sued the president and joined state lawsuits urging the Supreme Court to declare major parts of the Affordable Care Act unconstitutional. On climate change, state attorneys general and coal industry groups are urging federal courts to block the president’s plan to regulate power plants. And on immigration, conservative lawmakers and state officials have demanded that federal judges overturn Mr. Obama’s plan to prevent millions of deportations.

But now there’s Shooters, a fantastic Colorado grill restaurant which employs waitresses who all pack heat, in the form of unconcealed handguns strapped in their holsters.

On arrival at Shooters, one is under no illusion as to what kind of place it is, as a sign prominently displayed on the front door proclaims, “Guns are welcome on premises. Please keep all weapons holstered, unless the need arises. In such cases, judicious marksmanship is appreciated.”

LA police shoot and kill man in Hollywood tourist area

Fresh protests were expected in Los Angeles after police shot a man on the tourist-packed Hollywood Walk of Fame, adding another killing to a recent and climbing toll.

Police officers attended one of the most crowded intersections in the city on Friday night, after reports of a man with a knife on Hollywood Boulevard. A man was subsequently shot dead. Some bystanders captured video and pictures of what appeared to be a white man slumped in the road, surrounded by a group of officers with pistols drawn.

The weapon the man was reported to have been brandishing appeared to have been a small Swiss Army-style pocket knife, according to pictures posted by police on social media that showed a numbered crime scene label next to the object.

Shot in the chest by Cleveland police – then handcuffed and fined $100

Good God what is happening with the police today............

When a man pointing a Glock pistol approached Gregory Love’s car in downtown Cleveland late one night, Love did the only sensible thing possible, he says: he put up his hands and decided to let the man have what he wanted.

But Vincent Montague shot him in the chest anyway, according to Love, before having the 29-year-old forcibly removed from his silver Range Rover and his hands fastened together behind his back.

The man that shot Love was Cleveland police officer Montague who was suspended for just one day. Love has field a lawsuit.


The lawsuit states that Love and Biggins “had their hands raised above their heads” and avoided “sudden or furtive gestures or movements”, yet Montague pointed his gun and threatened them before leaning into the driver’s window to take the keys from the ignition. Montague insists that Love’s hands were not up and that his right hand remained at his waist. A Vine video filmed by an onlooker appears to show Love raising at least one hand.
