Have you had any experience with portable stairclimbers/ellipticals?
Hey all -- I'm going to start searching the net for a portable aerobic device for those times when I'm on the road, but I'd thought I'd throw this out to you all.
Had any experience? Good brands vs brands to avoid?
Thanks so much!
Advice on strong fiction
Hey all - I've been very much in an escapist mode lately, and have been finding comfort in re-reading my Frederick Forsyth novels. I'd pursue Tom Clancy next, but I've read that his conservatism reveals itself in his writing.....and I'm not sure that I'd enjoy that. (Feel free to share your opinions on this.)
As you can tell, I enjoy intrigue - but will be open to any/all suggestions for fiction books that won't exacerbate my already depressive state. So if you can share with me your favorite fiction authors and why you enjoy them, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm not much of a science fiction fan - but don't hesitate to attempt to sell me on good sci-fi works!
Thanks in advance ---- PM
Looking for advice on compact stereo
Hey all......could us some advice/suggestions/experience shares here.
By virtue of the fact that I'm a single dude and rent rooms in my pad, my stereo system is in my bedroom. (along with a pretty decent 'puter sound system.) When I have the place to myself I'd like to have sound in the living room or kitchen.
I have an old JVC "boom box" with good sound, but it needs service - and I assume that technology has progressed to the point where I can get equivalent sound quality in a smaller unit. The first thought that occurred to me was the Bose Wave system, but the reviews of the Wave III scared me off. I'm prepared to check out what Fry's has to offer, but thought I'd get some feedback from y'all before going.
Final note: I'm somewhat hearing impaired, so super-high quality sound is not necessary......if it's even available in a small unit to begin with.
Thanks in advance for any feedback you can pitch my way!
Just joined DU
Hello all -- odd time to join a discussion forum given how busy I am, but what the hell. Thought I should donate and become a member since I've been an on-again off-again lurker for so long using DU as a news source.
So consider this an overdue Thank You for all of the great info. I've benefited from over the years.
