Mercedes-Benz fuel cell electric vehicle cracks 300,000 kilometre mark

Autocar Pro News Desk Oct 08, 2014

With more than 300,000 kilometres, a B-class F-Cell from the current fuel cell electric vehicle fleet of Mercedes-Benz has achieved a continuous running record under normal everyday conditions.

The world's unique and still running test show that fuel cell cars are reliable even under extreme stress and over several years. For this achievement, Daimler AG was honored with the ‘f-cell Award 2014’ and therefore was, for the third time, convincing with its developments in the field of fuel cell technology in the competition for the Fuel Cell Innovation Award. "The test is a step in the direction of series-ready application of the fuel cell drive train", says the jury comprising of experts from economics, science and politics.

Produced under series production conditions, the Mercedes-Benz B-class F- Cell has already been in day-to-day use with customers in the European and American markets since 2010. Today, the total mileage of the Daimler fuel cell fleet, which now numbers more than 300 vehicles, including numerous research vehicles, reaches far more than 9 million kilometres...

Grand Coalition to expand network of GREEN hydrogen fueling stations in Germany

Renewableenergyfocus.com 08 October 2014

Automaker Daimler and industrial gases giant The Linde Group are teaming with oil & gas companies Total, OMV, Avia and Hoyer to significantly increase the number of hydrogen fueling stations in Germany. The initiative will implement 13 new refueling locations by the end of 2015, and secure sustainable sourcing of ‘green’ hydrogen...

Daimler and Linde are leading a German initiative to implement 13 new hydrogen refueling locations by the end of 2015.

...Linde already secures half of the hydrogen for existing CEP fueling stations from ‘green’ sources, and it will power the 20 new stations with fully renewable hydrogen.

The green hydrogen is obtained from crude glycerol – a by-product of biodiesel production – at a dedicated pilot plant at the Linde gases centre in Leuna. The certified green hydrogen obtained in this way produces far fewer greenhouse gas emissions than conventional methods.

Linde also has other sustainable sources at its disposal, like bio natural gas and water electrolysis using wind-generated electricity, for example as part of the H2BER project...

Noam Chomsky: "The US created the background out of which ISIS grew"

Published on Oct 4, 2014

An interview of Professor Noam Chomsky of MIT by David Barsamian. The interview takes us on a general overview of the state of the Middle East, and the role that Turkey has played in it. Covering the origins of ISIS all the way to the Kurdish issues in Turkey, Professor Chomsky gives us a glimpse of the complex politics of the area and his opinion on the future moving forward.

I like the part around the 25min mark where he points out how disgusted the West is at the beheadings, yet for some reason view the drone bombings as less violent.

I like the part around the 56.40 minute mark where he said (paraphrasing) that "Israel, the US, Britain, and other clients are rogue states w/a monopoly of force on the planet, and they ignore UN rules given to the rest of the world as a result".

Japan: Surplus green energy eyed for fuel-cell cars

The Yomiuri Shimbun 6 October 2014

The Environment Ministry will begin a model project in which surplus electricity generated from renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar power, will be utilized to produce hydrogen for fuel-cell vehicles.

The ministry aims to maximize the use of green energy, including any surplus power, and spread the use of fuel-cell vehicles. To that end, a plan for hydrogen fueling stations will get a boost....

...To make better use of green energy from Hokkaido and other areas suited for wind or solar power generation, the ministry plans to produce hydrogen using any surplus electricity...

...The plan also offers the benefit of utilizing power from renewable energy sources, which would result in lower carbon dioxide emissions than methods of producing hydrogen from fossil fuels...

Mark Crispin Miller, Truther, on 9/11 Free Fall with Andrew Steele

Truly Essential Radio for those that DO care!

This show was broadcast October 2, 2014

Mark Crispin Miller

Mark Crispin Miller is professor of media studies at New York University, and the author of the several books. In this discussion he talks about the media, propaganda, and the use of the weaponized term “conspiracy theory” to marginalize those who speak out on issues like the 9/11 controlled demolition evidence.

Mark Crispin Miller is the author of the book: Fooled Again, How the Right Stole the 2004 Elections. He is known for his writing on American media and for his activism on behalf of democratic media reform. His books include Boxed In: The Culture of TV, Seeing Through Movies, and Mad Scientists, a study of war propaganda.

He is a signatory to the 9/11 Truth Statement.

He graduated from Northwestern University with a BA in 1971, Johns Hopkins University with an MA in 1973, and a Ph.D. in 1977.

Political commentary

Miller writes in his book, Fooled Again, that the 2000 U.S. Presidential election and 2004 U.S. Presidential election were stolen. Miller presents extensive documentation, backed by 56 pages of notes, supporting his contention that the outcome of both elections was altered and controlled by a small minority. He states that the American voting populace can no longer assume that their votes will be accurately assessed, and that the installation of electronic voting machines in state after state is a fundamental flaw in the U.S. electoral system. He appeared in the 2004 documentary Orwell Rolls in His Grave, which focuses on the hidden mechanics of the media, its role as it should be and what it actually is, and how it shapes (to the point of almost controlling) U.S. politics.
