American Horror Story: Season 7

Ryan Murphy Says This Year’s “American Horror Story” Inspired By Presidential Election

Slenderman Stabbing Victim, Now 15, Is a Strong Young Woman Excelling in School

"Slenderman" is a fictional horror character that could never "stab" anyone!

This is a People magazine headline story.

I mean, good for her, good story - but what a title?

Let's hope the White House lurker doesn't get a hold of this!

Trump Suffers A Massively Embarrassing Defeat As Andrew Puzder Withdraws As Labor Sec Nominee

Source: PoliticusUSA, by Jason Easley

Donald Trump suffered the ultimate humiliation as his Labor Secretary nominee was forced to withdraw his name from consideration after he lacked enough votes for confirmation in the Republican-controlled Senate.

Puzder fit the Trump mode for nominees, as he hated minimum wage laws and labor regulations. Puzder also had a history of sexism and an allegation that he assaulted his ex-wife.

The Puzder rebellion by Democrats and several Republicans is a massive defeat for Trump that comes at a time when there is growing momentum for a bipartisan investigation into the Trump/Russia scandal.

A president who promised to win so much that America would be tired of winning has become one of the biggest losers in presidential history. Trump has lost every case related to his Muslim ban in court, his National Security Adviser’s resignation has accelerated a massive political scandal, and now his Labor Secretary nominee doesn’t have the votes to be confirmed by a majority Republican Senate.

Mike Flynn's Resignation Is The First Domino To Fall In Trump's Russia Scandal Nightmare

Source: PoliticusUSA, by Jason Easley

Trump hopes that the resignation of Mike Flynn represents the end of the Russian scandal, but it is likely the first domino to fall in a nightmare that has the potential to destroy a president.

Flynn wasn’t only an appointee. He was a constant presence and a regular warm up act at Trump’s campaign rallies. In his letter, Flynn positions himself as a person who made a mistake, but the truth of the matter is that Flynn’s ties to Russia were never in doubt and regularly reported on during the presidential campaign.

The Trump administration is throwing Flynn under the bus and hoping that they can rely on the one bad apple defense to make the Russia scandal go away. Flynn’s resignation is likely to have the opposite impact. Congressional investigations, especially in the Senate, are only going to have their curiosity heightened by the resignation.

The Russia scandal just got real, as Mike Flynn was the first person to get thrown under the bus, but the bigger questions remain unanswered, and they center around the man occupying the Oval Office.

Trump’s Russia nightmare is about to get a whole lot worse.

Martin Luther King Jr. on the record for a Guaranteed Income

The idea of Universal Basic Income as a solution to job automation technology became mainstream in 2016. But the concept of a guaranteed income for all, regardless of employment, is nothing new. Martin Luther King Jr. was a big proponent of it way back in the 60's.

“…It is a cruel jest to say to a bootless man that he oughta lift himself by his own bootstraps…"

Willie J. Parker Changed His Mind About Abortion

Dr. Parker outside Alabama State House, May 2015

Source: The New York Times Magazine, interview by Ana Marie Cox

Your book, “Life’s Work,” is rooted in the fact that you have a moral and spiritual argument in favor of abortion rights, and you talk about your shift from someone who, for religious reasons, didn’t want to provide abortion to someone who, for religious reasons, did. Why did you consider that a “conversion”?

I had to come to a crisis moment regarding a religious understanding that left me unable to help women when I felt deeply for their situation. So I needed to convert from a religious understanding that left me paralyzed to act on my deepest sense of connection to one that empowered me to do what I felt to be the right thing. It felt as life-altering for me to move from being unable to do abortions to being able to do them as it did to move from being a nonbeliever to becoming a believer.

Tell me about the connection between your heritage as a descendant of slaves and the idea that abortion is ultimately about ownership of a body.

People often struggle with why, as a man, I am deeply committed to feminism, reproductive justice and gender equality. I come from a heritage of people who know what it’s like to have your life controlled by somebody else. What’s most proximate to that reality right now is the direct control of women’s bodies and their reproduction, because if you don’t control your reproduction, you don’t control anything else about your life.

"Let America Be America Again" -- Langston Hughes

Langston Hughes saw Donald Trump coming: “Let America Be America Again” vs. MAGA

Let America be America again.
Let it be the dream it used to be.
Let it be the pioneer on the plain
Seeking a home where he himself is free.

(America never was America to me.)

Let America be the dream the dreamers dreamed—
Let it be that great strong land of love
Where never kings connive nor tyrants scheme
That any man be crushed by one above.

(It never was America to me.)

O, let my land be a land where Liberty
Is crowned with no false patriotic wreath,
But opportunity is real, and life is free,
Equality is in the air we breathe.

(There’s never been equality for me,
Nor freedom in this “homeland of the free.”)

Say, who are you that mumbles in the dark?
And who are you that draws your veil across the stars?

I am the poor white, fooled and pushed apart,
I am the Negro bearing slavery’s scars.
I am the red man driven from the land,
I am the immigrant clutching the hope I seek—
And finding only the same old stupid plan
Of dog eat dog, of mighty crush the weak.

I am the young man, full of strength and hope,
Tangled in that ancient endless chain
Of profit, power, gain, of grab the land!
Of grab the gold! Of grab the ways of satisfying need!
Of work the men! Of take the pay!
Of owning everything for one’s own greed!

I am the farmer, bondsman to the soil.
I am the worker sold to the machine.
I am the Negro, servant to you all.
I am the people, humble, hungry, mean—
Hungry yet today despite the dream.
Beaten yet today—O, Pioneers!
I am the man who never got ahead,
The poorest worker bartered through the years.

Yet I’m the one who dreamt our basic dream
In the Old World while still a serf of kings,
Who dreamt a dream so strong, so brave, so true,
That even yet its mighty daring sings
In every brick and stone, in every furrow turned
That’s made America the land it has become.
O, I’m the man who sailed those early seas
In search of what I meant to be my home—
For I’m the one who left dark Ireland’s shore,
And Poland’s plain, and England’s grassy lea,
And torn from Black Africa’s strand I came
To build a “homeland of the free.”

The free?

Who said the free? Not me?
Surely not me? The millions on relief today?
The millions shot down when we strike?
The millions who have nothing for our pay?
For all the dreams we’ve dreamed
And all the songs we’ve sung
And all the hopes we’ve held
And all the flags we’ve hung,
The millions who have nothing for our pay—
Except the dream that’s almost dead today.

O, let America be America again—
The land that never has been yet—
And yet must be—the land where every man is free.
The land that’s mine—the poor man’s, Indian’s, Negro’s, ME—
Who made America,
Whose sweat and blood, whose faith and pain,
Whose hand at the foundry, whose plow in the rain,
Must bring back our mighty dream again.

Sure, call me any ugly name you choose—
The steel of freedom does not stain.
From those who live like leeches on the people’s lives,
We must take back our land again,

O, yes,
I say it plain,
America never was America to me,
And yet I swear this oath—
America will be!

Out of the rack and ruin of our gangster death,
The rape and rot of graft, and stealth, and lies,
We, the people, must redeem
The land, the mines, the plants, the rivers.
The mountains and the endless plain—
All, all the stretch of these great green states—
And make America again!

Donald Trump isn't the Antichrist but he is anti-Christ

My wife - big fan of The Omen movies - leaves the room whenever that creature is mentioned or appears on a TV. She firmly believes this guy is the you-know-what!

And now, the evidence mounts?

Source: The Christian Post, by Eric Sapp

A few weeks ago, I was reading a piece on President Trump's inner circle. The story talked about how Trump's son-in-law saved the family fortune by selling their real-estate holdings and investing them all in a single building: 666 Fifth Avenue ... and how he then leveraged the profits from 666 Fifth Avenue to buy a new property adjoining the family's $666 million development in New Jersey.

Want to guess how high the new building being built from the profits of 666 Fifth Avenue will be? Yup, 666 feet!

As it turns out, a super lunar eclipse, the phenomenon when the "moon turns to blood," is very rare. Only five "blood moons" occurred in the last century and only four during President Trump's lifetime.

Again, want to guess when the first blood moon was? The night Donald Trump was born. And the most recent time the moon turned to blood? The night after the "Values Voter Summit," when Trump articulated his vision for why Christians should follow him.

So while I found the blood moon links eerie, and many of the 666 connections intriguing, there was one connection between President Trump and 666 that I found chilling.

666 Fifth Avenue falls almost perfectly in the "middle" of Fifth Avenue from north to south. And candidate Trump's famous proclamation that he could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue (where 666 Fifth is) and shoot somebody without losing any voters reflects precisely the environment and cult the Bible warns about.

But after Trump's most recent executive order denying safe haven to Christians fleeing ISIS and genocide in Darfur, I feel I must speak the Biblical truth that Trump is anti-Christ.

It's not because he was born the night of a blood moon or has more connections to 666 than he does to Kevin Bacon. It's because his is a spirit of fear and emptiness, that seeks only to fill his bottomless insecurity with worldly affirmations and idols, instead of humbling himself before the only One who can make him whole. And it is that antichristian spirit that is both leading so many Christians astray and gathering such evil human forces around him in his alt-right and Russian enforcers.

Holy shit!
