Later today, the 2020 election cycle will end for me

I will fill out the ballot; drive a short distance to the election office; and place the ballot in the drop box.

I did not watch the debate. Trump could have given the "I have a dream...." speech and topped it off with $2,000 checks for everyone and I would not have cared. The destruction of democratic norms in an attempt to institute one-party rule has to stop. White America is trying to resist becoming an electoral plurality. Fossil fuel America doesn't want to give up the easy money. I get it. But authoritarianism, science denial, and an apartheid state aren't a recipe for longevity or prosperity.

I encourage everyone with the ability to vote early to do so, and deliver your ballot directly if possible.

For the socially distanced vacation - we are renting an RV.

We are typically stay-in-the-Marriott types, but this year is different. So the 2020 vacation plan is to rent a large RV from Cruise America and head out - me, the missus, an adult kid, and a highschooler. We will stop at campsites at a state park and a national park. The idea is that we'll bring food, bedding, tons of hand sanitizer and wipes, and (with the exception of stopping for gas) we will be self-contained.

I expect hilarity to ensue. Or possibly divorce.
