So, yesterday at Walmart

I was picking up my order, I hate grocery shopping and have used this service since before the covid pandemic, very convenient. Anyway, I was the first car there for a 7am pickup. I checked in for my pickup order on the app, but it kept saying error. I tried calling the pickup phone but the mailbox was full. Other cars started arriving to the pickup area and we waited. Yes, it was frustrating, but..

So, about 15 minutes later a young man appeared with my order. I rolled down the driver's side window to hand him my ID for the beer I bought. He was so nice and apologetic about the wait. I said, "No worries, I'm very patient." Then, he went to put my groceries in the back.

I heard someone talking to me from my left through the open driver's side window. Some haggard looking woman in a beat up old van was yelling toward me saying something about how she didn't have time to wait, that this bullshit was ridiculous and that she had kids to get to school. She was just really being so full of rage. I raised my hand to her and waved her off as I yelled to her, "Bye, Karen!" And rolled my window up.

I heard a chuckle from the back of my car from the guy who was loading my groceries and I told the young man, "I don't have time for Beckys. And she's probably a trump voter anyway!" I heard the biggest guffaw from him and he smiled big and said, "I hope you have a wonderful day, you really made mine."

Joke found on Mastodon.

Waiter: And for you, sir?

Me: I’ll have a steamed lobster who lived as a laborer for a feudal lord, and a filet mignon, cooked medium rare, from a cow who believed that the fight for women’s rights should not include trans women.

Waiter: Ah, yes. The serf and terf. Very good.

DeSantis Bans AP Psychology Out Of Fear People Will Figure Out What's Wrong With Him. (The Onion)

TALLAHASSEE, FL—Explaining that the course would teach thousands of high schoolers harmful information about identifying psychological disorders, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Friday that the state would ban AP Psychology out of fear that people might figure out what precisely is wrong with him. “If students come to understand ideas, theories, and terminology associated with mental disorders like, say, narcissistic personality disorder, it could get them that much closer to understanding why exactly I behave the way I do,” said DeSantis, adding that such Advanced Placement classes would only indoctrinate the state’s students into recognizing the many mental health issues that manifest in his behavior on a daily basis. “These courses will make teens look critically at why I act so strangely in seemingly normal human situations and, frankly, allow them to work out that something in my brain is probably abnormal. Floridians know that should never happen. If I don’t know why I seem to be in pain every time I smile, our high school students certainly shouldn’t.” DeSantis went on to announce that he would also be banning couples counseling in the state after advisors suggested his wife Casey DeSantis might use the dangerous practice against him some day.

A judge has ruled Texas' abortion ban is too restrictive for women with pregnancy complications.

Source: Associated Press

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A Texas judge ruled Friday the state’s abortion ban has proven too restrictive for women with serious pregnancy complications and must allow exceptions without doctors fearing the threat of criminal charges.

The ruling is the first to undercut Texas’ law since it took effect in 2022 and delivers a major victory to abortion rights supporters, who see the case as a potential blueprint to weaken restrictions elsewhere that Republican-led states have rushed to implement.

“For the first time in a long time, I cried for joy when I heard the news,” lead plaintiff Amanda Zurawski said in a statement. “This is exactly why we did this. This is why we put ourselves through the pain and the trauma over and over again to share our experiences and the harms caused by these awful laws.”

The challenge is believed to be the first in the U.S. brought by women who have been denied abortions since the Supreme Court last year overturned Roe v. Wade, which for nearly 50 years
had affirmed the constitutional right to an abortion.

Robert Kennedy Jr's racist, antisemitic and xenophobic views go back decades, report says

Robert Kennedy Jr, a long-shot Democratic candidate for US president, has a long history of racism, antisemitism and xenophobia, and should be denied a national platform, according to a damning report seen by the Guardian.

Kennedy, who provoked anger last week when he was filmed falsely suggesting that the coronavirus could have been “ethnically targeted” to spare Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese people, is due to testify at the US Capitol in Washington on Thursday.

The Congressional Integrity Project, a political watchdog, called for Republicans to disinvite Kennedy after releasing a report that details his meetings with and promotion of racists, antisemites and extremist conspiracy theorists.

“Kennedy embraces virtually every conspiracy theory in existence,” the report states. “His horrific antisemitic and xenophobic views are simply beyond the pale, and he has frequently met with and promoted antisemitic conspiracy theorists. Kennedy’s anti-vaccine conspiracies go back decades and have had deadly real world consequences.”

WHEN CAN WE REMOVE HIM FROM THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY????

This is a reminder of how love can transform.

This is Cujo. No, we didn't name him that but chose to keep it to keep from confusing him. We rescued him after two families returned him because he would not potty train and for whatever reason. It was obvious to us that he was abused and did not trust humans.

Today, he is happy, potty trained and loves his family. He gives kises and plays well with his doggie family. Oh, he still attacks and bites when getting groomed or having his nails cut and requires a muzzle. But, love, understanding, gentle training and lots of hugs and kisses have tranformed his life.

I just got great news about my job!

My client's little brother, 6 months old, also has some medical issues. He was FINALLY approved for home nursing care and I will be getting a $10.00 raise!

My first client, 2 years old, sleeps soundly through the night. Her little brother is getting better about sleeping, but has major heart surgery soon. Both children have feeding tubes and the older sister has a tracheostomy but is very stable, medically.

So, this is great news for his exhausted parents and for me and my family!!
