What chance does Mayor Pete have of being picked up as VP?

I know it’s still early and no, I’m not giving up on my guy. I am thinking strategically though. If he was to fail to get the nomination, do you think he would have a good chance of being picked as a running mate?

Crying baby irritates Bernie Sanders.

A few weeks ago, I mentioned how Bernie always seems angry and shouting during the debates. I don’t think I like him at all now.

Transgender and sports. Mentally debating myself

I’m posting this because I am conflicted as to how I feel. I read an article on CNN about a transgender athlete encountering resistance while trying to compete. I will post the link to the article below. What are your thoughts?

Just so no one thinks I’m trying to shit stir without giving an opinion, I’ll say that I can understand the argument in regard to the natural testosterone this athlete has benefited from compared to the other girls. What is the common ground or the solution here?

Four people have been arrested in connection to the mass murder of a Pike County family, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said Tuesday.

The following four members of the Wagner family, of South Webster, were taken into custody Tuesday afternoon and are charged with planning and carrying out the murders:

George "Billy" Wagner III, 47
Angela Wagner, 48
George Wagner IV, 27
Edward "Jake" Wagner, 26

Seven adults and a teenage boy were shot "execution-style" in rural Ohio on the night of April 21-22, 2016.

Eight members of the Rhoden family were shot and killed at four homes near Piketon, about 90 miles north of Cincinnati.

This is local for me but it was national news at the time. They originally said it was a cartel hit.

THIS IS A WHITE NEIGHBORHOOD': Woman admits leaving racist note on new neighbor's door

Source: NBC Affiliate

A 63-year-old Indiana woman has been arrested after police say she left a racist letter on the door of her neighbor's recently purchased house.

The Kokomo Tribune reports Deborah Cantwell has been charged with misdemeanor counts of intimidation and criminal mischief for a crime. She has also been served a protection order that prohibits her from contacting the family involved. She has been released on bond.

Police were contacted Oct. 13 when the husband and father of the family found his Greentown home toilet-papered in addition to the racist note.

“No N---- wanted in this neighborhood-THIS IS A WHITE NEIGHBORHOOD-some people find N-----Stressful,” the message read. "YOUR N---- KID IS NOT WELCOME.”

Another racist who decided to crawl out of hiding.

Shia LaBeouf went full racist at the Savannah Police Dept. where he was arrested this past weekend, telling a black officer he would go to hell because of his skin color.
In newly released video, while Shia was being fingerprinted he looked at a black officer and said, "You're going to hell, straight to hell, bro." A white cop questioned the drunk actor, and added ... "That doesn't mean he's going to hell." Shia responded, "It means a whole lot, bro."
He goes on to accuse the cops of being racist because "a black man arrested me for being white."

I don't even know what to say. That guy has lost his ever loving mind.

Confederate T-shirt will not be allowed in Tensing retrial

Source: WLWT

The judge in the murder retrial of a white Ohio police officer who fatally shot an unarmed black motorist ruled that the Confederate flag T-shirt Ray Tensing was wearing would not be admissible in his retrial.

His attorneys moved to to block from the trial a T-shirt depicting a Confederate battle flag that Tensing wore under his uniform, saying it was irrelevant but could be inflammatory.

Judge Leslie Ghiz said that the shirt would prejudice the jury, and noted that she would say the same thing if the T-shirt spoke about God or religion.

The St.Mary's County Fire Department said that the aircraft crashed at the Breton Bay Golf Course, WRC reported.

"About 1 o'clock we had a Black Hawk helicopter come over and he was kind of flying sideways, pretty low, and then as we got out on the deck watching it, he got treetop level and all of a sudden we saw the tail spin up and just spinning around and we heard him go down," witness Mike Harvey, a golf professional at Breton Bay Golf Course, told WBAL News Radio 1090 AM.

A Crack in an Antarctic Ice Shelf Grew 17 Miles in the Last Two Months

This is an update from The New York Times about the crack in the Larcen C ice shelf.

A rapidly advancing crack in Antarctica’s fourth-largest ice shelf has scientists concerned that it is getting close to a full break. The rift has accelerated this year in an area already vulnerable to warming temperatures. Since December, the crack has grown by the length of about five football fields each day.

The crack in Larsen C now reaches over 100 miles in length, and some parts of it are as wide as two miles. The tip of the rift is currently only about 20 miles from reaching the other end of the ice shelf.

Once the crack reaches all the way across the ice shelf, the break will create one of the largest icebergs ever recorded, according to Project Midas, a research team that has been monitoring the rift since 2014. Because of the amount of stress the crack is placing on the remaining 20 miles of the shelf, the team expects the break soon.

NOAAs GOES-16 Satellite Sends First Images to Earth

GOES-16, the first spacecraft in NOAA’s next-generation of geostationary satellites, has sent the first high-resolution images from its Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) instrument. Included among them are a composite color full-disk visible image of the Western Hemisphere captured on January 15, 2017. Created using several of the ABI’s 16 spectral channels, the full-disk image offers an example the satellite’s advanced technology.

The ABI can provide a full disk image of the Earth every 15 minutes, one of the continental U.S. every five minutes, and has the ability to target regional areas where severe weather, hurricanes, wildfires, volcanic eruptions or other high-impact environmental phenomena are occurring as often as every 30 seconds. The ABI covers the Earth five-times faster than the current generation GOES imagers and has four times greater spatial resolution, allowing meteorologists to see smaller features of the Earth’s atmosphere and weather systems.

I remember when they launched this as GOES-R last year. They said that it would provide more astrological and meteorological data in 6 months than we've collected in the past 40 years. After leaving Earth, it takes 6 months for the satellite to unpack itself and be fully functional. This is one of my favorite projects that I follow closely. GOES-S should be ready to launch this year.
