Multiple corporations are bringing production — and jobs — to the U.S. following policies championed by President Joe Biden.
Car manufacturer Honda and electronics conglomerate LG announced plans to build a $4.4 billion facility for electric vehicle battery production in Ohio on Aug. 29. The announcement comes two weeks after the Inflation Reduction Act, which contains incentives for consumers to buy electric vehicles with American-made components such as batteries, was signed into law by President Joe Biden on Aug. 15.
The two multinational companies expect the facility's construction to begin in 2023, with the plant ready to commence production by 2025. It is the first investment announced by Honda toward producing their own batteries since the company said it would go all-electric by 2040.
Honda’s CEO Toshihiro Mibe noted in the company's statement that “Honda is committed to the local procurement of EV batteries which is a critical component of EVs. This initiative in the U.S. with LGES [LG Energy Solution Ltd.], the leading global battery manufacturer, will be part of such a Honda approach.”

Members of the Texas State Board of Education heard from an angry mother on Tuesday who said that first graders should not learn about Mahatma Gandhi because she believes it's part of critical race theory.
At a meeting to discuss the social studies curriculum for K-12 students, one woman identified herself as a mother named Jenna.
"You refer to our flag, bonnets and mockingbirds as a significant symbol to a Texas community," the mother opined. "No, these are emblems of identity and instill pride and connection with our home."

Here is a suggestion, go back home and read about Quanah Parker and how racism was used against one of the most fiercest indigenous people in the Southwest and what they were trying to do to save themselves from the "manifest destiny" that was invading there land from the beginning.
And how he was raised and what he became later in his great life, which they, the Comanche held near and dear to themselves for centuries, because after all what exactly has the European and Spaniards for example done to the indigenous people in this land, to peoples in Mexico, South America, Cuba it's right there in the history, it cannot be canceled?
Have you read anything about the Sioux, Lakota, or how about the Cherokee, Saks, Chippewa, Mohave, Cahuilla for example.
Did you know Quanah Parker was moved across a border to live in another land called Oklahoma, do you know the reason why?
In fact there is a site where you can explore who this great Chief was.....and if you look at Chief Quanah Parker and Gandhi they are the same in some respects.......these two men came from different cultures, but in the end they wanted peace and no borders....

This week, the Lever, ProPublica and the New York Times discovered the largest known political advocacy donation in American history. We exposed a reclusive billionaire’s secret transfer of $1.6bn to a political group controlled by the Republican operative Leonard Leo, who spearheaded the construction of a conservative supreme court supermajority to end abortion, block government regulations, stymie the fight against climate change and limit voting rights.
This anonymous donation – which flowed to a tax-exempt trust that was never disclosed in any public record or database – was probably completely legal.
Whether you support or abhor Leo’s crusade, we should be able to agree on one larger non-partisan principle: such enormous sums of money should not be able to influence elections, lawmakers, judicial nominations and public policy in secret. And we should not have to rely on a rare leak to learn basic campaign finance facts that should be freely available to anyone.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) suggested over the weekend that Democrats are engaging in voter suppression because many people in Wisconsin believe he is a "tool" of Russia.
During a Sunday interview on Fox News, host Maria Bartiromo argued that there was reason to "distrust and question" the honesty of elections.
"That was part of what went on in 2020," she told Johnson. "People were questioning. Well, can we trust them? We know what they just did in the Russia collusion hoax."

Republican attorneys general and corporate advocacy groups are exploring ways to sue the Biden administration over its newly announced plan to cancel $10,000 in federal student loan debt for most borrowers, hoping the conservative-packed U.S. judiciary will strike down the executive action and deny badly needed relief to around 40 million people.
"Conservative jurists, and ultimately the justices themselves, will be eager to shred the new program."

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Conservative attorney L. Lin Wood said he had been subpoenaed to appear before a special grand jury in Georgia investigating former U.S. President Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
"The devil is after me today!!!" Wood said in a statement shared on Telegram late on Friday. "...the Fulton County DA attacks me as you can see from the email below to my attorney, Ibrahim Reyes, by demanding that I testify before the 'Trump Witch Hunt' grand jury!!!"
Wood, who gained notoriety after the 2020 election by promoting conspiracy theories of fraud in the race, joins a growing number of Republicans who have been asked to appear before the special grand jury to answer questions about Trump's attempts to reverse his loss in Georgia, a battleground state that helped propel Democrat Joe Biden to the presidency.

Postal union officials are sounding the alarm about the potentially damaging impacts of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy's effort to consolidate post offices across the U.S. as part of his widely condemned 10-year plan to reshape the public mail agency.
Government Executive reported Friday that "more than 200 post offices and other U.S. Postal Service facilities are set to shed some of their operations as soon as this year as the mailing agency seeks to consolidate those functions at larger buildings, according to documents shared by management."

According to a report from the New York Times, Jared Kushner is facing some awkward moments as he hits the airwaves to promote his book "Breaking History," where he is forced to defend Donald Trump while at the same time trying to keep some distance from him.
As the Times' Maggie Haberman and Annie Karni wrote, the president's son-in-law has been strictly sticking with plugging his book on ostensibly friendly conservative outlets, but that hasn't spared him from having to address the laundry list of investigations Trump is facing as well as the former president's claims he was robbed in the 2020 presidential election.
Noting that Kushner has gone to great pains to stay out of the spotlight since the attack on Capitol, his desire to sell his book has put him in the position where he has to talk about the former president -- and it has not always gone well.

that has now has been served with a warrant over his head for Espionage, obstruction for hiding top secret documents in a resort, and when asked to return them and he didn't want too......
I can still recall how people had to wait for a background check just to just get a confidential clearance and if you wanted to go higher you had to get another one ........and this yahoo was /had to have been on / in some of those meetings, right along with his wife, who also had the top secret clearance .....YES/ NO?
Did he see the orange one take a classified documents and shove it in some drawer..... to then be stuffed in some box.....and moved 1,000 miles to a beach resort......and then this "guy" says the election was sloppy......really, what about hiding documents....JFC....
