on the fake electors, the search warrant the fbi executed at Clark's house were planned before the hearings or not ?
I would think that the DOJ would need to dot the i's and cross the t's before raiding Clark's house for example so it would seem unlikely they decided when watching hearings a few days before.
But who knows ? is it that the DOJ felt pressure or that it just so happen they were ready to proceed and this coincided with the hearings ?
I guess they also may have decided to wait until hearings so that it's out in the open and they don't collide with the commitee ?
I can't wait to learn in the future what actually happened when somebody writes their memoir on the events of the day ..
We are gonna need bigger jails at that rate...
those responsible for this coup attempt should be punished. It looks very likely that the DOJ is moving to indict several of them like Clark whose house was just raided by the fbi, Eastman, probably Rudy and a few of the prominent people in the fake elector scheme.
I am hoping they get to Trump himself. However if they don't, do you guys think that all the other prosecutions will have enough of a chilling effect to convince people not to go along with similar bullshit in 2024 lest they end up in jail ?
In the aftermath of the latest hearings fox news analysts were saying Trump has criminal exposure and may be in trouble.
This is a stunning development. Maybe the fox overlords have decided to finally ditch Trump and back De Santis.
If that's the case it's imperative we break the filibuster asap ( hopefully after November if we gain enough senate seats) to pass voting rights laws. Getting out the vote is crucial.
My thinking is that De Santis has been ruthlessly effective in Florida at getting the legislature to pass all sorts of horrible things.
If he gets to the white house he will have an Agenda and unlike Trump will push it effectively. He will get the gop senate to drop the filibuster if they get senate and house and pass laws that will bring us to the point of no return.
There will be no " oh but we have the filibuster" to save us.

I believe that the QGOP cult has been so effective at brainwashing people to vote against their own interests because they are adept at planting seeds for conspiracy theories. In recent years the GOP has understood that with the social media platforms they can do this very well.
Here is a recent example in this thread
where a Florida congressman tweets that Nancy Pelosi and CNN were in cahoot to orchestrate some kind of propaganda operation on the floor of congress.
Of course, it was totally false, and that congressman later deleted the tweet quietly.
Meanwhile his followers saw it, some retweeted it, etc..
You can bet its now part of the MAGA lore that Nancy Pelosi and CNN are up to no good. These people will never see the debunking.
The GOP knows that and uses this method very effectively. I am not sure how we combat that.
I am pretty sure that there is a video showing a woman ( the pink hat woman ) telling insurgents where to go as they were breaking through a window, explicitly saying she had been there the day before.
I will see if I can find it. I remember because at the time people were debating who was that pink hat woman.
In yet another video, she stands outside a broken window, shouting instructions through the bullhorn to rioters inside. Powell says, Ive been in the other room, and appears to outline a plan involving breaking a pane of glass to get into another part of the Capitol
From this article:
She tweeted :
The new details revealed tonight related to January 6 are disturbing.
it's my duty to investigate allegations of fraud or potential misconduct in New York.
This incident is no exception.
related to the big grift.
Somebody is in deeper trouble..
representative lofgren in her closing statement.
This sets up another interesting line of investigation for next hearings
the commitee did. Thousands of interviews, countless documents both paper and electronic. They pieced all of it together producing a compelling narrative during the hearings , buttressing it with carefully chosen clips from the interviews.
These people and their staff are geniuses. As part of my job we often have to synthesize large amounts of information and distill it in a few pages in a paper. I know how hard it is and their task was an order of magnitude bigger .
This also puts into perspective the pace at which DOJ is going. They have to do this as well and make it legally tight so that it can be used in court.
I wish he has come out sooner instead of waiting for his book to be published.
