A song about the Watts Towers.

Saturday, August 13, 2016
The Watts towers

From the years between 1921 to 1954, in a small community south of Los Angeles California USA, an Italian immigrant constructed a folk art master piece called: the Watts towers. This art piece has been an Iconic landmark for 62 years. The Towers stood in a black ghetto for many decades and now sits in a Barrio that is populated by Latin immigrants. I visited the Towers twice, once in the 70’s and in the 90’s.
To me, the Towers symbolize the struggle of downtrodden people of the world. Even though it is a physical and material object, you can feel it’s spiritual energy. I was so moved by it presence, I wrote a song about, just click in the picture and hear the song.
