I'm gonna say it: I wish Romney was heeded in 2012.

Not elected of course, but heeded. Within 15 months of his infamous “Russia is our #1 geopolitical” foe comment during the 2012 campaign, for which he was mocked by everyone including President Obama, VP Biden and SOS Clinton, Russia had interfered in Ukraine, likely shot down that Malaysian flight amongst other things, and just 2 years later stole our election.

I think an incredible amount of damage could have been avoided (including NO PRESIDENT TRUMP) and it’d be a lot harder for Rethuglicans to ignore the problem if we’d been actively fighting it for 6 years now.

We were ALL wrong on this. No “80’s wants it’s foreign policy back” jokes here: Russia IS our #1 foe, and we need to catch up on years of lost time that we could have been halting this enemy in its tracks.

Could/should we have done more about Russia pre-2016?

I loved Obama’s 2012 zingers about “the 80’s wanting their foreign policy back” after Romney said Russia was our #1 geopolitical foe. Tons of other Democratic leaders and strategists took a similar stance at the time, and I trusted their expertise.

But since 2016 we’ve talked about little else besides Russia, so now I’m wondering if Trump could have been prevented if we’d taken the Russia threat seriously before then. 2012-2016 feels like 4 years lost, and it feels like we’ll be paying for that mistake way longer than 4 years.

Disturbing: Trump's favorability is HIGHER than it was pre-election.

Last week and a half before 11/8/16 - 37.5 Favorable, 58.5 Unfavorable

6/1/18 - 7/3/18 - 41.8 Favorable, 53.2 Unfavorable

These policies can't possibly be winning him more voters, can they? Maybe question is being asked differently today than in 2016? Where are all these alleged supporters?

FBI: Man planning alleged Cleveland attack wanted to give explosive-filled cars to military children

Source: USA Today

The FBI said Monday that Demetrius Nathaniel Pitts – also known as Abdur Raheem Rafeeq – was taken into custody Sunday morning on accusations of attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. Last week, Pitts, 48, of Maple Heights, Ohio, allegedly told an undercover agent: "I did tell myself that their holiday is coming up. The Fourth of July. Independence Day. What would hit them in the core? Blow up. Have a bomb. Blow up at the Fourth of July parade."

Authorities say Pitts, an American citizen, talked about hitting targets such as St. John's Cathedral and giving remote control cars packed with explosives to the children of military members.

According to court documents, in a Jan. 25, 2017, Facebook post, Pitts commented on photos believed to be from an al-Qaida training camp. "We as Muslim(s) need to start. Training like this every," the post said. "Look at the bed blue-eyed devils. They teach their little dogs on how to shoot and hunt. ... We should always be prepared to fight in the name of Allah Akbar. All cowards stay home."

Anthony said Pitts' adult criminal history dates back to 1989 when Pitts was 19. He was charged in Hamilton County with aggravated robbery and felonious assault, convicted of robbery and sentenced to three to 15 years in prison. Records show he served less than a year in prison and was released on probation.

If we abolish ICE and and the jobs of 20,000+ federal employees, the anti-gov right can retire.

Cause we've officially taken over their role in the political process.
