Opposition to Obama "from the right" isnt ALL about Race, really?

http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/susan-rice-defends-criticized-pow-release

Republicans slam White House over POW release

So Democrats would oppose POW releases (you know, for you "what if democrats did it" crowd)? Republicans would have opposed it BEFORE he was for it?

http://www.mediaite.com/tv/are-conservatives-really-going-after-michelle-obama-for-promoting-water/

Are Conservatives Really Going After Michelle Obama for Promoting Water?

Republicans were always AGAINST water?

How about these ten examples

http://www.eclectablog.com/2013/08/10-ideas-republicans-loved-until-barack-obama-became-president.html

NOTHING he could do, NOTHING will they support because it is he they would be supporting.

ONE exception and it is one that they are paid to make, TPP.

Scott Walker shops at Kohl's just like you and me, no really, he does...

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wisconsin-gov-scott-walker-shopping-kohls-white-house/story?id=28454138

"I went to a Kohl's department store and I bought something for the price it was marked at," Walker said. "My wife said to me, 'You can never go back there ever again until you learn how to shop at Kohl's.'"

I wonder if they have a picture of the ONE and ONLY time in the past 15 years he or his wife shopped at Kohl's.

People, Scott Walker is not like you and me, he is part of the very very wealthy elite, even if he personally isnt that rich, he is in their crowd.

He wants to take away your food stamps and healthcare and working rights...and right now.

"Today, you are you"

Thoughts For The Day.. from Theodor Geisel,
.... Much Better Known as: Dr. Seuss
"Today, you are you! That is truer than true!
There is no one alive who is you-er than you!
"Be who you are, and say what you feel,
Because those who mind don't matter,
And those who matter don't mind"
"Just tell yourself, Duckie, you're really quite lucky"
Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are?
“When you think things are bad,
when you feel sour and blue,
when you start to get mad...
you should do what I do!
Just tell yourself, Duckie,
you're really quite lucky!
Some people are much more...
oh, ever so much more...
oh, muchly much-much more
unlucky than you!”
“Be grateful you’re not in the forest in France
Where the average young person just hasn’t a chance
To escape from the perilous pants eating plants
But your pants are safe, you’re a fortunate guy
You ought to be shouting how lucky am I”
“You ought to be thankful a hole heaping lot,
for The places and people you're lucky you're not!”
“Oh, the jobs people work at!
Out west near Hawtch-Hawtch
there's a Hawtch-Hawtcher bee watcher, his job is to watch.
Is to keep both his eyes on the lazy town bee,
a bee that is watched will work harder you see.
So he watched and he watched, but in spite of his watch
that bee didn't work any harder not mawtch.
So then somebody said, "Our old bee-watching man
just isn't bee watching as hard as he can,
he ought to be watched by another Hawtch-Hawtcher!
The thing that we need is a bee-watcher-watcher!".
Well, the bee-watcher-watcher watched the bee-watcher.
He didn't watch well so another Hawtch-Hawtcher
had to come in as a watch-watcher-watcher!
And now all the Hawtchers who live in Hawtch-Hawtch
are watching on watch watcher watchering watch,
watch watching the watcher who's watching that bee.
You're not a Hawtch-Watcher you're lucky you see!”
“Think they work you too hard? Think of poor Ali Sard.
He has to mow grass in his uncle's backyard
and its quick growing grass,
and it grows as he mows it
the faster he mows it the faster he grows it.
And all that his stingy old uncle will pay
for his shoving mower around the hay
is piffulous pay of two dooklas a day.
And Ali can't live on such piffulous pay!”
Just tell yourself, Duckie, you're really quite lucky!
Some people are much more...
oh, ever so much more...
oh, muchly much-much more
unlucky than you!”
From Theodor Geisel better known as Dr.Seuss

Brad and Brad and Hollywood and War...

Cut it out guys. Stop glamorizing war.

Whether it is "Fury" or "American Sniper", you two guys have more money and power and fame than god, so please choose more wisely in the future.

So, George W, Darth Cheney and friends, mass murderers, or no?

I cant do a poll, but I got to thinking about the attitudes of certain people and wondered who would agree with this statement?

So, are American Pit Bulls bad from the get go, or not?

I am a big fan of a reality show where little people promote pit bull acceptance and fight against municipal legislation to outlaw them

But, I hear also of stories where a pit which was not trained to attack, attacked, etc.

Either the breed has created some problems or it hasnt, or the breeding or what I dont know.

There has to be some science on this, by now?

this was the headline on here that got me thinking

http://abc7news.com/news/san-mateo-police-run-down-pit-bulls-following-vicious-attack-/485645/

SAN MATEO, Calif. (KGO) -- San Mateo police claim they had no choice but to use a patrol car to run down two vicious dogs that bit one woman and charged at several other people.

One dog was killed and the other is alive. Its fate will be decided by the Peninsula Humane Society.

The woman is recovering from bites and cuts inflicted by two aggressive dogs.

"It was a very out of breath, frightened male caller saying he had just fended off two large dogs that attacked him," San Mateo police Sgt. Rick Decker said.

I borrowed this from a friend...I like it a lot...

Our system says we have to abide by SCOTUS decisions, but that doesn't mean they have decided correctly. Either in a general moral sense, or in the stricter sense of correctly interpreting law.

If that were true, we'd have to live with Plessy v. Ferguson, or consider Citizens United a masterpiece of jurisprudence. Stare decisis applies, but the Court does reverse itself, or we'd be stuck with Plessy and never have had Brown vs. Board.

So, though I've had these arguments with many folk many times, what Justice Scalia or others on SCOTUS believe do not negate that the Constitution discusses the very Militia the 2nd amendment references. Thus, there is an easy way to understand what is being referred to; it's mentioned elsewhere in the document.

This is one of those specifically enumerated powers conservatives/originalists love to talk about; this is something the Constitution directly and specifically says government must do.

Article I Section 8 clause 15:

To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

Also see: Militia Act of 1792:

http://www.constitution.org/mil/mil_act_1792.htm

Like I've said 8000 times, and will repeat, though the militia was called up from the people, not all people were considered eligible, and were not part of it until the executive authority did so, and that militia was supposed to be disciplined, one source of discipline being regulation of the firearms they had access to.

Also, BTW, despite what some mouth-foamers claim, one of the key functions of the militia was to PUT DOWN insurrections AGAINST the government. NOT OVERTHROW IT.

On anniversary of ROE v WADE, the dumbest of the dumb flock to DC

If you know anyone who works in DC, this is the one day they dread being there.

The dumbest of the dumb, people who have no clue, who have tremendous disrespect for our government, our history, the people of Washington, etc.

One former House staff worker says you can count on seeing all these assholes and their kids with t shirts like "sure glad my parents didnt have an abortion"

Sometimes I wonder...

I am not like a lot of people I have met on DU (but many I have met are exactly like me too); I am PASSIONATE, I am ANGRY when I see racism and outright white supremacy or if I see people deny the obvious, like how most opposition to Obama is based solely on race, and other obvious race related issues, I get ANGRY.

I know I am pretty well free to say this in the African American forum, gee, wonder what they know the rest of us don't.

I want to know if it is safe to say that Darren Wilson is a god damn fucking racist piece of shit murderer (voluntary manslaughter at a minimum, or hey, I have an idea, how about a trial TO FIND OUT) and the fact that the DOJ couldn't convict him of PLANNING THE MURDER when he woke up that day, changes nothing.

I want to know if I am free to say that the GOP has changed the rules since Obama became president, and behavior that used to be considered beyond the pale, completely unacceptable, especially in matters of FOREIGN POLICY and so on, is something I can say, safely.

I want to know if I can say racism is used every day, by white people, in America, against minorities, and that the SC is about to preserve the right for racists to discriminate regards housing as they recently did in matters of voting.

Now I can spot a fake liberal or democrat from miles away, most of us can and we either ignore them here or we try to enforce the rules as they apply to them, but what I cant stomach are these middle of the road namby pamby so and so's who want to find every god damn reason in the book to not go "all in", as they say in Texas Hold-Em.

Sorry if that bothers you, but in matters like race, climate change and economics, we are either ALL of us ALL IN or we are not.

And no, I did not have too much caffeine today

If you think this is nasty, you should see me when I am in a bad mood...
