Barr Runs Off Stage When Asked About His Giuliani Ukraine Collusion

From the article:

Barr said, “The DOJ has an obligation to have an open door to provide us information that they think is relevant, but as I said to Sen. Graham, you have to be very careful with any information coming from the Ukraine. There are a lot of agendas. There are a lot of cross-currents, and you can’t take anything you are seeing from Ukraine at face value, and for that reason, we had established an intake process in the field, so that any information coming in from Ukraine could be carefully scrutinized by the department and its intelligence community partners so that we can access its provenance and credibility.”

Barr then ran off the stage and took no follow-ups.

I would say the word run does not accurately describe it. I would say he slithered off the stage, leaving a trail of slime.

I say bring back those good old traditional American energy sources!!!!

No, not coal.

I am speaking of whale oil and animal dung.

Yes, there is a shortage suitable whales, which can be remedied when the Trump brand whale farms start production.

Luckily for us, there is no shortage of animal dung. Indeed, with the growth of corporate factory farms, the US has an abundance of animal dung.

So all we need to do is harvest the dung, and burn it in our Trump brand dung stoves.

And there we have it, a Trump jobs program, and a renewal energy program.

Thank you for the hearts.

They are appreciated, as is the conversation at DU.

2018 was the prelude. If we remain focused, 2020 will be the main act.

At this point, I support Elizabeth Warren, but I know that among the top contenders, any one of them would be an excellent President.

It really is that simple.

But what we must do, as activists, and voters, and citizens, is not expect any candidate to work miracles. As we saw in 2010, when voters sit back and except their President to carry the load alone, bad things happen. The Tea Party wave was merely one of many examples of bad things happening.

We are the only ones who can save the country. And we can do it by being active voters, and active citizens. It is vital that every one of us who is capable do all that we can to insure a Democratic victory, not just in 2020, but in 2022 and every other election.

What is an active voter?

1) An active voter votes, obviously, and votes in every election, at every level. Many conservative politicians often start off by running for Town council, or other local posts.

2) An active voter is an educated voter. Educated on the issues, and able to articulate the issues.

3) An active voter reaches out to other people. It might be at town meetings, or local organizations. And this outreach includes discussion of the issues.

4) An active voter will, to any extent possible, work with good candidates to help reach out to voters, and potential voters.

There is much more, but remember that a substantial portion of eligible voters never vote. They can be reached, and active voters can reach them.

Sorry, Trump Supporters, But You Lost The Right To Lecture America On Civility

From the article:

Ever since House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tore up her copy of Donald Trump’s State of the Union address this past week, the MAGA world has been holding round-the-clock TED talks about decorum and civility.

Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida, one of Trump’s favorite boot-lickers, even plans to file ethics charges against Pelosi.
The real beauty of their implosion is that they expect us – the majority of the country that voted against Trump in 2016 – to take them seriously.

I hate to break it to supporters of the fake billionaire and reality TV president, but you lost the right to be outraged by anyone’s behavior when you hitched your wagon to an amoral sleaze-bag who has spent a lifetime demonstrating that he doesn’t possess a single redeeming quality – not a one.

The same Trump voters who scream about "political correctness" cry about the supposed rudeness of Nancy Pelosi.

I find the variance between polling and DU informal polling to be interesting.

One example from today:

Final Iowa delegate numbers:
Buttigieg: 14
Sanders: 12
Warren: 8
Biden: 6
Klobuchar: 1

At DU, Warren is the clear favorite when choosing from multiple candidates. In Iowa, she was third, or essentially tied for 2nd if one sees each group of two as too close to call.

What does this show, if anything?

Edited to add:

Even here, 43% are undecided. So in my view, we are guessing at this point.

What type of household was Trump raised in that he turned out so damaged?

The man is an emotionally immature mass of anger and hate. He directs that anger against anyone who does not blindly support him.

He directs his hate against women, persons of color, the disabled, the military, and people in general.

And we all know that he is completely unfiltered. What he thinks, no matter the consequences, he says.

And because he is from a rich, white family, so far in his life the legal consequences have been negligible. If he were a brown man stealing some food, he would be arrested and charged with theft. But because the rich enjoy a different standard, his lawyers make things go away.

But what happened in the Trump family that caused this fortunate son to have such hate for everyone? And, does anyone here think Trump has ever been happy, or in love? Is he even capable of experiencing these emotions?

Joy Reid Calls Susan Collins A Trump-Appeasing Coward In Blistering Takedown

From the article:

The MSNBC host played a clip of Trump’s post-acquittal victory ramble, saying, “That’s the person who you, Sen. Collins, want to learn the error of his ways? You think he learned the error of his ways?”

“Meanwhile, he’s already announcing an enemies list,” she added. “His attorney general, William Barr, has seized control of investigations into campaigns canoodling with foreign helpers, and your Senate colleagues apparently have already sicked the Treasury Department on Hunter Biden. ”

Collins is simply one of a large number of concerned, cowardly, craven, crooked, crawling lackeys for Trump.

The deadly virus that threatens us all.

I am concerned about being exposed to that virus that is spreading like an epidemic around the country. I am not speaking about the coronavirus. I am speaking about that other, even deadlier virus.

I am speaking about the political cowardice virus that is spreading rapidly around the country, and at every level of government.
This virus currently manifests as a total inability of many politicians to condemn lying, and racism, and general hate speech.

The center of the epidemic seems to be in Washington DC, in the White House, but we see outbreaks everywhere, even at the local level. And a terrible side effect of this virus is that it causes the infected politicians to become spineless, making them less able to stand up for anything.

The only way to combat this virus is to protest, and stand up to the infected politicians. The only real cure is to wash away the political cowardice virus with a cleansing blue tsunami in 2020..

Thank you for the hearts.

I am also looking for a brain, but that is another story as I travel with my friends on the yellow brick road.
