The ten most bizarre moments of 2016 Presidential debate

3. The word saladiness

Trump tossed some of the biggest word salads ever. He threw everything from the fridge and beyond in there. It was unbelievable. Uuuge! He was, in fact, mostly incoherent the entire night. One highly incoherent point came when he was asked about cyber security threats: "I don't think anyone knows it was Russia that broke into the DNC. She's saying Russia Russia Russia, but I don't. Maybe it was. I mean it could be Russia; it could also be China. It could also be lots of other people. It also could be someone sitting on their bed that weighs 400 pounds, okay?"

In addition to word saladiness, there is just the fact that Trump's world is pretty much a logic free zone. This was exhibited in his reponse to whether he has renounced his racist birtherism campaign against President Obama, and what took him so long? The answer is he wants to move on, she started it, and he got Obama to produce his birth certificate, and he's very proud of that. It's an illogical, offensive non-answer. Truly Trumpian! The word salad stems from a brain salad.

4. The weird brags

Let's break it down! Your favorite moments of 1st debate

I think my favorite part of the whole thing was the two times he tried to bait Hillary with the use of the work bigly. He used it, shot her a glance, and she just smiled. Then he tried again, and she didn't bite, and he got flustered. Not sure how he was thinking about using it, but it definitely was used. Bigly.

RIP Arnold Palmer (my story)

Back in the 80s I did event consultation for a sporting event company. I consulted on a lot of golf tournaments. One year at Torrey Pines (San Diego) I was in the 19th hole (perks) hanging out after the tourney had ended. Everyone as there, golfers, and fans. Jack Nickolaus came in and he was surrounded by his entourage. Trevino, same thing. All of the pros had a large, impenetrable group surrounding them.

Then Arnold Palmer walked in. By himself. Alone. No entourage, no nothing. He spotted a table with two old ladies and made his way there, asked if he could sit with them and ordered drinks. He stayed at that table for an hour or so, talking with the ladies. After an hour or so he got up and left. No big deal, just walked out into the night. I was curious, so I went to the ladies and asked them if they knew Arnie. They both said they didn't, they were just there and he picked them out because they werent clamoring for his or anyone's attention, he just thought they would enjoy it. Said they talked about themselves, that Arnie was interested in them and didn't talk about himself at all.

I was amazed. I spent a lot of time around pro golfers and found them for the most part to be boorish assholes, but Arnie was the real thing. No facade.

Happy birthday, Bruce Springsteen! (Called DT a moron last night!)

Bruce with Phish at Bonnaroo.

I've seen the guy many times, first at the Roxy in LA. Last a couple of years ago in Oakland. Always amazing. His songs are me. The greatest performer that ever lived. Part preacher, part carnival Barker, part Elvis had Elvis not become the Elvis that he became, and part everyman. Socially active, yet not preachy. It's in his music through and through though. You can't be into Bruce listening to "Factory" or "Youngstown" and not know EXACTLY where he stands.

Thanks for the music, Bossman.

On that leopard print couch right over there? I'm worn out. I can't keep arguing anymore...😉

Report: Disabled Black Man Shot Dead by Police While Reading in the Car

A disabled black man has died at the hospital after being shot by a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer Tuesday afternoon on Old Concord Road in University City, a subdivision of Charlotte, NC.

Police said they were searching for someone who had outstanding warrants when they saw a man with a gun leave a vehicle. The victim was not the subject of the search, said Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Kerr Putney.

According to police reports, the man, who has not been named, returned to his vehicle. When they approached the man, they claim he “posed an imminent deadly threat to the officers” and one of them opened fire. An eyewitness told the victim’s daughter that a Taser was used on her father, then he was shot at least three times.

By Daniel Kreps

Neil Young joins the protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline with his new song and video for "Indian Givers." The video combines footage of the recent protests against the pipeline with footage of Young singing the track while driving in his car.

You don't kill off Big Oil's pet project that easily.
"There’s a battle raging on the sacred land / Our brothers and sisters have to take a stand," Young sings on the track. "Against us now for what we all been doing / On the sacred land there's a battle brewing."
The rocker also refers to "Big Money" as "Indian Givers" for their determination to feed an oil pipeline through land given to the Native Americans.
Young wrote the track in the past two weeks as it mentions Dale "Happy" American Horse Jr.,
