It’s Not What You Think.

I’m not saying that I like Trump, because I don’t. I’m simply saying I am thankful for him as The Antidote for our American Passivity. Donald Trump has done what no other politician, spiritual leader, or whistleblower could have done; scared Americans into mobilization.

For this, I am grateful. As an outspoken community activist, I have been subjected to Whack-A-Mole-politics for many years now. Any time I pointed out an uncomfortable truth the club would come out. Today, however, there are not enough clubs to silence all the moles popping up from their cozy dens, condemning America’s harsh and hidden truths.

Then: I love Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead. The most melodic of bassists. He is still out there playing with everyone. Some of his projects post Jerry were truly incredible with surprising band configurations and players (Ryan Adams, Joan Osborne, Jackie Greene among others.

Now: Les Claypool. Guy is amazing. Plays with Primus as his primary but also plays with many others including an acoustic show.
