Vet put a tight tourniquet instead of a bandaid on my cat's paw

My cat had her teeth pulled yesterday - they put her under to do it. When I picked her up they said they put a bandaid on her and take it off in 2 hours. I let her out of her carrier at home and she ran under the bed. I left her alone - after all it was supposed to only be a bandaid.

This morning I got her out to give her medicine and take off that bandaid and found her foot completely swollen and it was in a double wrapped tourniquet that was so tight I had a big problem cutting it off- no room for tiny embroidery scissors under there. I got it off but her foot is still huge and her leg near her foot is tiny. That foot is at least 2 times the size of the other or bigger -she went back under the bed so I don't know if it's 3 times the size. I'm horrified the vet put that on her.

It was to stop bleeding from the blood work they did to see if it was safe to put her under. Has anyone else dealt with this? I don't know if I'm to wait it out or I should be rushing her to an animal hospital. And, I have to get to work - a 2 hours commute.

I looked up a few things on line and the vet should not have constricted her blood like that. I see that they recommend people don't put bandages on animals because they're liable to get them too tight.

Has anyone had experience with this? Is your animal alright?
