Looks like everyone agrees with Sen. Sanders

Watch the other candidates agree

ooo, interesting article
http://usuncut.com/politics/6-reasons-bernie-sanders-actually-owned-the-debate-despite-what-pundits-claim/

4. Focus Groups
When the mainstream media polled focus groups to ask who won the debate, group participants overwhelmingly chose Bernie Sanders. CNN selected a group of undecided voters in Nevada; conservative messaging guru Frank Lutz picked a focus group of Democratic voters in Florida; Fusion picked out a focus group of millennial voters from Miami. And in each instance, focus groups thought Bernie Sanders won the debate. Luntz’ participants described Sanders as “strong,” “smart,” and “for the people,” with nearly all participants picking him as their favorite. Fusion’s focus group picked Sanders 8-3.

Canadian elections and their process

http://www.elections.ca/home.aspx

Different ways you can vote.
You can vote on the day, October 19th
Polls are open for 12 hours.

If you're registered, you will get a voter information card by mail. It tells you when and where to vote. You should have received it by October 1. You can also use the online Voter Information Service to find out where to vote.

They have what is called advanced polls where you can vote from the 9th through the 12th.
There are four advance voting days. Polls are open from noon to 8:00 p.m.

Friday, October 9
Saturday, October 10
Sunday, October 11
Monday, October 12
Your voter information card tells you the address of your advance polling place. You can also find it in the Voter Information Service.

Or any office!!
Vote at one of 400 Elections Canada offices

or you can vote by mail.
If you will be travelling outside your riding, or if you find it more convenient, you can vote by mail – apply now.

Apply as soon as possible, to allow time for your voting kit to reach you and for your marked ballot to reach Elections Canada by election day.

I get the feeling that the country of Canada thinks it is a good thing to have it's citizens actually vote.

Damn, they are serious about this thing. Oh and Huff Canada is saying that the voting so far is off the hook. Harper is probably long gone.

So Hillary is going after guns

She is hoping to get some of the left's votes.

This is what happened today when President Obama visited the grieving families in Oregon. Sorry about the link source, it came on my FB feed from a very progressive friend. We are appalled. Hillary may wonder how good of a choice she made because I don't think she will gain that any more Left votes but may lose some votes she already had.

Hundreds of "gun rights" supporters who oppose gun control lined the highway into town to send a strong message to the President as he drove to meet with the families of the victims of last Thursday's massacre: "Go home!"

Call to Latino community to make the Democratic Party work for their votes

http://time.com/3462339/latino-vote-2016-democrats-immigration/

The article is rather harsh on President Obama, but I think the community is tired of waiting on immigration reform and it seems like there is a call in the Latino community to make the Democratic Party work for their votes.

...the Democrats more broadly–are starting to see Latinos as a political football to be tossed around when it suits their political needs.

That line really struck me because I think that is how minorities are treated in general by politics.

Gerrymandering not working well enough

So they decided to do this.
http://www.theroot.com/articles/news/2015/10/alabama_to_close_31_sattelite_dmv_offices_in_counties_where_75_percent_of.html

Ala. to Close 31 Satellite DMV Offices in Counties Where 75 Percent of Voters Are Black

labama requires a photo ID to vote.

This week Alabama decided to announce that it would stop issuing driver's licenses in certain counties because of budget cuts. Those counties happen to contain the highest percentage of nonwhite voters, an AL.com columnist has pointed out.

According to the report, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency announced (pdf) Wednesday that 31 satellite state Motor Vehicle Division offices would no longer have access to driver's license examiners as a result of the cuts, meaning that residents will have to travel to other counties in order to take care of their licensing needs.

AL.com's John Archibald was quick to notice that this new change, coming one year after the voter photo-ID law took effect, does not appear to be a coincidence. He is calling for the Department of Justice to open an investigation, the site notes.
