Superdelegate veto? Hell no: A Piece Today in NY Daily News

If Clinton wins the majority of the delegates at stake via primaries and caucuses, virtually all the people I have met and spoken to will accept that decision and vote for her in the general election. The prospect of a Trump or Rubio or Cruz presidency is just too scary to fathom.

But if Sanders wins the majority of delegates in the democratic voting process, and superdelegates ignore the will of the people and hand the nomination to Clinton, the Democratic Party will implode for a generation. A wave of voters, especially young people, will walk out of the party, perhaps never to return — but certainly they will stay at home on Election Day unwilling to cast a vote for a nominee they will view as illegitimate.

Sanders campaign can't meet demand for lawn signs

The Bernie Sanders campaign is struggling to keep up with the demand for lawn signs in Massachusetts, according to State Director Paul Feeney.

Feeney, who has experience working on local campaigns, said he "has never seen anything like it" while working in politics. New signs are currently on back order from print shops and shipments carrying extra signs from New Hampshire are expected this week.

"We weren't sure we would have the volunteer resources at first," Feeney said. "Now we are meeting every metric, every goal. We have more and more volunteers walking through the door every day."

The Sanders campaign for the Democratic nomination currently has five Massachusetts offices including Charlestown, Worcester, Springfield, Lawrence and an office in New Bedford which just opened on Feb. 13.

Michigan Nurses Association Endorses Sen. Bernie Sanders for President 02.15.2016

Nurse leaders unanimously endorse Sanders’ plans to create Medicare for All address income inequality, and restore our democracy

The Michigan Nurses Association (MNA), which represents more than 11,000 Registered Nurses, is proud to endorse Sen. Bernie Sanders for president of the United States. University of Michigan Health System Registered Nurse Katie Scott announced the MNA endorsement as part of the Sanders’ rally in Ypsilanti on Monday.

“Nurses and Bernie agree that health care is a human right, and he is the only candidate who has made a commitment to Medicare for All,” said Scott. “Facing a life-threatening illness or injury is scary enough. In America, no one should be terrified of facing bankruptcy because they get sick.”

Sanders is also a sponsor of federal legislation to establish minimum nurse to patient ratios in all hospitals, which illustrates his commitment to patient safety over hospital profits.

Denver and the West Colorado Republicans cancel presidential vote at 2016 caucus

Colorado will not vote for a Republican candidate for president at its 2016 caucus after party leaders approved a little-noticed shift that may diminish the state's clout in the most open nomination contest in the modern era.

The GOP executive committee has voted to cancel the traditional presidential preference poll after the national party changed its rules to require a state's delegates to support the candidate that wins the caucus vote.

The move makes Colorado the only state so far to forfeit a role in the early nomination process, according to political experts, but other caucus states are still considering how to adapt to the new rule.

"It takes Colorado completely off the map" in the primary season, said Ryan Call, a former state GOP chairman.

Republicans still will hold precinct caucus meetings in early 2016 to begin the process of selecting delegates for the national convention — but the 37 delegates are not pledged to any specific candidate.
