Tim Canova, Debbie Wasserman Schultz Challenger, Wins Two Huge Endorsements

On March 3, the Communication Workers of America, the nation's largest "communications and media" union, endorsed Canova. The union, which claims to represent 700,000 workers, has also thrown its full support behind Sanders.
Yesterday, the nation's largest nurses' union, National Nurses United, endorsed Canova at a 1 p.m. news conference as well.

"Our goal is to get people into elected office that will stand up to people and not corporations," union President Deborah Burger told New Times via phone. "So far, what we’ve seen is that Debbie Wasserman Schultz has utilized the DNC to promote a certain candidate [Hillary Clinton]. That candidate has taken billions, billions in corporate donations."

Her union, she said, is backing both Canova and Sanders due to their support for single-payer health care and environmental protection laws. Nurses, she said, are often forced to deal with patients harmed by government policies.

Interesting story about Canova. I knew he was an attorney but that was all I knew.
The main stream politicians etc. have written him off just like they did Sanders!

Sanders Picks Up Superdelegate Support in Vermont

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) now has a 6-4 edge over rival Hillary Clinton among Vermont’s 10 superdelegates to the Democratic National Convention.

Sanders picked up the support of three superdelegates Tuesday. Vermont Democratic Party chair Dottie Deans, party vice chair Tim Jerman and Secretary of State Jim Condos all announced their support for Sanders.

At a Statehouse press conference, Condos and Jerman cited Sanders’ margin of victory in Vermont’s March 1 primary. Sanders won nearly 86 percent of the vote, outpolled Clinton in every Vermont town and won all 11 of the state’s district delegates to the convention.

The state’s 10 superdelegates don’t have to base their support on the primary’s outcome, but Condos and Jerman said it was a factor for them.

Backing Sanders, in addition to Deans, Jerman and Condos are: Sanders himself, Congressman Peter Welch (D-Vt.) and Democratic National Com.mittee member Rich Cassidy

Bernie Sanders Just Won Support from the Most Unlikely Person

Bernie Sanders is receiving some unlikely support as of Wednesday.Asher Edelman, the inspiration for Gordon Gekko in Oliver Stone’s “Wall Street,” was asked on CNBC’s “Fast Money” who would be his choice for the next President of the United States. He quickly responded, “Bernie Sanders… No question.”

When pressed for further explanation, he began setting up his answer by saying, “I think it’s quite simple again. If you look at something called ‘velocity of money… That means how much gets spent and turns around…” and then continued:

“When you have the top one percent getting money, they spend five-ten percent of what they earn. When you have the lower end of the economy getting money, they spend a hundred, or a hundred and ten percent of what they earn. As you’ve had a transfer of wealth to the top, and a transfer of income to the top, you have a shrinking consumer base, basically, and you have a shrinking velocity of money.”

He added:

“Bernie is the only person out there who I think is talking at all about both fiscal stimulation and banking rules that will get the banks to begin to generate lending again as opposed to speculation.”
