Clinton’s Close Ties to the Oil, Coal and Gas Industry-Press Release

NEW YORK – The Clinton campaign on Friday held a conference call with New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio to discuss Secretary Hillary Clinton’s record on clean energy and climate change.

Unfortunately, the Clinton campaign left out some important facts.

In 2001, Clinton voted to kill a measure backed by most Democrats and spearheaded by Sen. Bill Nelson that would have restricted drilling off the coast of Florida. Sanders voted for the restrictions.

During the 2006 election, Clinton accepted $74,000 from oil and gas interests while running for re-election that year. According to a scorecard of Senate votes compiled by the League of Conservation Voters, Clinton cast two votes in support of 2006 legislation to vastly expand drilling in the Gulf. Those votes put her on the opposite side of then-Sen. Barack Obama. That same year, Sen. Bernie Sanders voted against a measure in the House of Representatives to expand offshore drilling.

Bernie on the front page of the NY Daily News today!

Brooklyn-born Bernie Sanders threw down the gauntlet yet again Friday, challenging Hillary Clinton to a debate before the New York primary — on his opponent’s adopted home turf.

“It's hard for me to imagine that somebody who was United State senator for eight years here would not be willing to debate issues of importance to New Yorkers and issues of importance to the United States of America,” Sanders said.

Nathan Place ; MONEY TO BERN Bernie Sets Fundraising Record, Again

In March, Bernie Sanders set the record for the highest amount of money raised by any 2016 presidential campaign in one month. Who held the previous record? Bernie Sanders, in February.

The Sanders campaign raised $44 million in March, more than any other candidate in either party. That surpassed its record in February, when it took in $43.5 million.

Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, raised a comparatively paltry $23.5 million in March, and was out-raised by Sanders in January and February as well.

Sanders’ campaign announced their haul in a press release Thursday night, in which they pointed out, of course, that the average donation they

Sanders pushes back on Clinton's claims that his campaign is lying

"If people receive money from lobbyists of the industry, I think you're receiving money from the industry," Sanders told "CBS This Morning" in an interview early Friday.

But in his Friday interview, Sanders cited a Greenpeace study that said Clinton received over $4 million from the fossil fuel industry, with individual contributions from over 50 lobbyists.

"CBS This Morning" host Charlie Rose pointed out that according to another source, FactCheck.org, Clinton's campaign has not received any direct contributions from any corporation, including oil and gas companies.

"There's a difference - if you are a lobby from the fossil fuel industry, and there are 50 of you and you make a contribution, that to me, Charlie, is a contribution from the fossil fuel industry," Sanders said. "That's different from saying you get it from Exxon Mobil."

When asked if he would support Clinton if she won the nomination, however, Sanders declined to answer.

"I obviously can't speak for millions of supporters, individual people," Sanders said. "What I can tell you is I think it would be an absolute disaster for this country if we had a Donald Trump as president of the United States and I will do everything I can to prevent that."

Pressed again if that meant backing the former secretary of state, Sanders replied: "Well, I'm sure that when Hillary Clinton announces that she'll be supporting me, we'll go forward together."

Yeah love Bernie's answer to Charlie on supporting Clinton! Go Bernie!
