Clinton Comes Out Swinging At Sanders Wall Street Plan—Before He Unveils It

-snip-
The Democratic front-runner has developed policies aimed at reining in the “shadow banking,” an area that Sanders’s proposals have yet to address. He's set to speak Tuesday in New York.

“Unfortunately, Senator Sanders has so far taken a hands-off approach to some of the riskiest institutions and activities in our economy, which were among the biggest culprits during the 2008 crisis,” Gary Gensler, Clinton’s chief financial officer and the former chair of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, said in a statement, referring to the activities of hedge funds and high-frequency traders. “In his speech tomorrow, Senator Sanders should go beyond his existing plans for reforming Wall Street and endorse Hillary Clinton’s tough, comprehensive proposals to rein in risky behavior within the shadow banking sector.”

A View From Des Moines

-snip-
Hey everyone,

I don't post on Reddit much, but I've been following this subreddit for a while. Thought I might just give a "Iowans" view.

I have lived in Des Moines since 2002, and so I've made it through a few caucus cycles now. I can tell you that, at least around Des Moines, there are zero yard signs/bumper stickers/etc for Hillary to be seen. My street alone, which is pretty blue collar in Central Des Moines, is literally lined with Bernie signs. I'm reluctant to call that a slam dunk, only because you would've thought Ron Paul was going to be the next POTUS in 08/12 by all the election signage around. It just tells me many of the Hillary supporters are very low energy/non-commital.

My wife and I are 36/37 respectively, and any friends we have planning to caucus for Hillary are doing so purely on gender lines (they admit that). We do have one gay friend who feels Hillary will represent him better as well. We just try to, in a friendly tone, express why we feel Bernie would be the best choice for President.

So, that's how it's looking here. I've seen this posted many times, but the key is going to be turn out. It's great that tons off people are showing up to events and showing support with signage, but at the end of the day you have to caucus. If none of you have ever seen or participated in a caucus, it can be a bit of an exhausting event. It also requires a fair commitment of your time for the evening... especially if you participate in delegate selection.
