Manning, 28, received a military letter on Thursday notifying her that she’s under investigation for three alleged offenses that could put her in solitary confinement indefinitely. An Army employee told Manning that the investigation stemmed from the former intelligence analyst’s July 5 suicide attempt in the Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, barracks, her attorneys said in a statement.

Manning remains in an observation unit at the barracks, Strangio said.
Military police are investigating her for allegedly possessing prohibited property, “conduct which threatens,” and “resisting” staff that entered her cell, according to the charge sheet that Manning dictated to a supporter over the phone.

The military could also punish Manning by increasing her sentence by nine years and denying her parole eligibility, the ACLU said in a statement.

Seems like everything had fizzled once the cases started to fall apart.

Baltimore prosecutors on Wednesday dropped all charges against the three remaining officers facing trial in connection with Freddie Gray's death.
Gray, 25, died after sustaining a neck injury while in police custody in April 2015. Three of the six officers charged in the case had already been acquitted.
Gray's death became a symbol of the black community's mistrust of police and triggered days of protests and riots in Baltimore. The city became a focal point of the Black Lives Matter movement and the nationwide debate on excessive police force.

But the city's top prosecutor didn't quite see it that way. Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby said the decision was "agonizing," and she slammed the way police handled their investigation into the case.

Pros and cons to both...
Anyone can claim to be part of the group (for good or bad)
A leadership heirarchy could clarify the message of the group and dismiss folks who went off message.
I think this was part of the reason the occupy movement was ineffective and we see the same things happening with BLM.

Parents stuck on I-40 during protest call paramedics to help young son

An ambulance had to be dispatched to pick up a child on the I-40 Bridge during the Black Lives Matter protest Sunday night.
Protesters began their march downtown and eventually made their onto the bridge, which caused it to be shut down for several hours. As a result, the child’s parents were stuck on the bridge, and they could not drive the child to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.
His parents were worried about his condition and considered it an emergency, so they called an ambulance. Bobby Harrell was the paramedic on that call.
"We were escorted by the Crittenden County Sheriff's Office up the wrong way on the interstate to pick up the child out of the traffic," Harrell told FOX13.

FFRF warning more than 1,000 school districts about new “Noah’s Ark”
The Freedom From Religion Foundation is advising public schools in more than 1,000 school districts against visiting a new religious theme park.
The Ark Encounter, which is opening this week in Kentucky, is a Christian ministry run by the creationist Ken Ham, who also built the notorious Creation Museum. Ham has been clear about the proselytizing nature of this park from the beginning. In a recent letter entitled, “Our Real Motive for Building Ark Encounter,” he states it plainly: “Our motive is to do the King’s business until He comes. And that means preaching the gospel and defending the faith, so that we can reach as many souls as we can.”
FFRF is already receiving inquiries from concerned parents that overzealous teachers or principals may mistakenly believe it appropriate to schedule school-related trips to the Ark Encounter, as has happened with the Creation Museum. In order to allay such concerns and to remind public schools of their constitutional obligations, it is sending a memo to every school district in Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, West Virginia and Ohio.
Ham is free to erect monuments to the bible, but public schools are not permitted to expose the children in their charge to religious myths and proselytizing. So, public schools cannot organize trips for students to either the Creation Museum or the Ark Park. Doing so would violate the students’ rights of conscience and the U.S. Constitution.

Glad they sent this out... This is one of my hot buttons and I'd lay hard into the school district that tried to bring my kid to this.
