Even with the lead Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (D-N. Y.) has in the polls, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Ver.) has continued to garner support from small donors at an historical pace not seen in any previous election – even President Obama’s election, which held the previous record.
Could that be why Western Illinois University just gave Sen. Sanders a hell of a holiday gift?

Western Illinois University, the only entity that’s predicted every single presidential election with 100 percent accuracy since 1975, just announced that its mock election sent Sen. Sanders and Martin O’Malley (D-Md.) to the White House in 2016 as President and Vice President, respectively.
From Hollywood A-list stars and musicians to millennials, veterans, and even a small-but-growing crop of Republicans with some common sense, supporters #FeelTheBern all over the demographic map. Sen. Sanders is the single “most electable” candidate from either party, even after running a so-called long-shot bid to be nominated as the 2016 Democratic candidate for president.
The university used the same mock election system in 2007 and 2011 to elect and reelect President Obama to the White House, and it’s the same system they’ve used all these years.

According to the latest Quinnipiac Polling data, although Sen. Sanders is still well behind former Sec. Clinton by more than 30 percentage points, he polls better than any of the GOP presidential candidates – including current GOP front runner Donald Trump.
According to Quinnipiac,
“Sanders does just as well, or even better [than Clinton], against top Republicans.”
Sen. Sanders beats Donald Trump by 8 points, Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) by 1 point, Ted Cruz (R-Texas) by 10 points, and Ben Carson (R-) by 6 points, according to Quinnipiac.
Sec. Clinton on the other hand beats Trump by 6 points, Sen. Rubio by 1 point.

Ted Nugent thinks it’s time for more gun violence in America. According to the right-wing gun nut, liberals need to be shot in the face to rid the country of them. Speaking with Alex Jones, the two conservatives fed into each other’s fervor.
“I don’t care why he’s foaming at the mouth, I don’t care how he got rabies, he’s rabid, get rid of the damn dog,” Nugent said. “When Old Yeller brings us slippers, give him a biscuit; when he foams at the mouth, you shoot him between the eyes. " This weekend, our hearts are with the people of San Bernardino—another American community shattered by unspeakable violence. We salute the first responders—the police, the SWAT teams, the EMTs—who responded so quickly, with such courage, and saved lives. We pray for the injured as they fight to recover from their wounds.
Most of all, we stand with 14 families whose hearts are broken. We’re learning more about their loved ones—the men and women, the beautiful lives, that were lost. They were doing what so many of us do this time of year—enjoying the holidays. Celebrating with each other. Rejoicing in the bonds of friendship and community that bind us together, as Americans. Their deaths are an absolute tragedy, not just for San Bernardino, but for our country.
More broadly, this tragedy reminds us of our obligation to do everything in our power, together, to keep our communities safe. We know that the killers in San Bernardino used military-style assault weapons—weapons of war—to kill as many people as they could. It’s another tragic reminder that here in America it’s way too easy for dangerous people to get their hands on a gun.
Today in San Bernardino, investigators are searching for answers. Across our country, our law enforcement professionals are tireless. They’re working around the clock—as always—to protect our communities. As President, my highest priority is the security and safety of the American people. This is work that should unite us all—as Americans—so that we’re doing everything in our power to defend our country. That’s how we can honor the lives we lost in San Bernardino. That’s how we can send a message to all those who would try to hurt us. We are Americans. We will uphold our values—a free and open society. We are strong. And we are resilient. For example, right now, people on the No-Fly list can walk into a store and buy a gun. That is insane. If you’re too dangerous to board a plane, you’re too dangerous, by definition, to buy a gun. This is what I wore to work today.
On my way to get a burrito before work, I was detained by the police.
I noticed the police car in the public lot behind Centre Street. As I was walking away from my car, the cruiser followed me. I walked down Centre Street and was about to cross over to the burrito place and the officer got out of the car.
“Hey my man,” he said.
He unsnapped the holster of his gun.
I took my hands out of my pockets.
“Yes?” I said.
“Where you coming from?”
“Home.”
Where’s home?”
“Dedham.”
How’d you get here?”
“I drove.”
He was next to me now. Two other police cars pulled up. I was standing in from of the bank across the street from the burrito place. I was going to get lunch before I taught my 1:30 class. There were cops all around me.
I said nothing. I looked at the officer who addressed me. He was white, stocky, bearded.
“You weren’t over there, were you?” He pointed down Centre Street toward Hyde Square.
“No. I came from Dedham.”
“What’s your address?”
I told him.
“We had someone matching your description just try to break into a woman’s house.”
A second police officer stood next to me; white, tall, bearded. Two police cruisers passed and would continue to circle the block for the 35 minutes I was standing across the street from the burrito place.
“You fit the description,” the officer said. “Black male, knit hat, puffy coat. Do you have identification.”
“It’s in my wallet. May I reach into my pocket and get my wallet?”
“Yeah.”
I handed him my license. I told him it did not have my current address. He walked over to a police car. The other cop, taller, wearing sunglasses, told me that I fit the description of someone who broke into a woman’s house. Right down to the knit cap.
Barbara Sullivan made a knit cap for me. She knitted it in pinks and browns and blues and oranges and lime green. No one has a hat like this. It doesn’t fit any description that anyone would have. I looked at the second cop. I clasped my hands in front of me to stop them from shaking.
“For the record,” I said to the second cop, “I’m not a criminal. I’m a college professor.” I was wearing my faculty ID around my neck, clearly visible with my photo.

The Auburn Muslim Students Association (MSA) blindfolded one of its members in the middle of campus and stood him next to a sign that said, “I am Muslim and I trust you. Do you trust me enough for a hug?” 90 minutes and roughly 100 hugs later, the group said they believe Auburn students proved they live by their famous creed, which reads, in part, “I believe in the human touch, which cultivates sympathy with my fellow men and mutual helpfulness and brings happiness for all.”
The MSA said they decided to try their idea because they believe “the national conversation is becoming increasingly negative and polarizing,” and they wanted to find out if their campus was “different.”
“I expected not that many hugs, so I was surprised,” said Basim Ismail, the Muslim student in the video. “That was a lot of hugs. There were really passionate hugs, there were high fives. I appreciated all of them. It was awesome.”
When asked if he received any negative feedback, Ismail said, “No, I didn’t hear it… Most people said they really appreciated what I was doing and they were happy to see someone like me doing this out here.”
Asim Ali, the MSA’s campus advisor, told AL.com the stunt was an exercise in empathy.
“The idea was simply to have people think and feel empathy and be able to relate to that,” he said. “Auburn University has a lot of diversity so we wanted to get people to think about what others may be feeling or thinking. Our expectation was that at the very least people might stop and think about how this is a student that’s a part of them that is feeling ostracized by a national dialogue.”

Why is Christian terrorism downplayed in the U.S.?
When Muslims commit violence against the innocent to further their ideological or political agenda, they are called, appropriately, “Muslim terrorists.” But when Christians do the same, they are rarely called “Christian terrorists.” Why not?
The FBI deems terrorism “the unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.” [Emphasis mine.] By that definition, Robert Lewis Dear, the North Carolina Baptist who is accused of killing three people and wounding nine in a shooting rampage last week at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs with an alleged ideological purpose, should be called a “Christian terrorist.”
So should many others, like Eric Rudolph, the “Olympic Park Bomber” who committed a number of anti-abortion and anti-gay-motivated bombings in the 1990s which killed two people and injured over 120 others; Timothy McVeigh, the Roman Catholic who bombed the Federal Building in Oklahoma City in 1995, killing 168 people and wounding more than 600; and Anders Behring Breivik, the Norwegian Lutheran who killed eight people in 2011 with a bomb in Oslo, then shot dead 69 participants at a youth summer camp in order to protect his country from a Muslim takeover.
But so far, I have not seen anyone in the mainstream media use the phrase “Christian terrorist” to describe a Protestant or Catholic who commits terrorism.....

At the National Prayer Breakfast this year, President Barack Obama said, “No God condones terror.” He claimed that the Islamic State is “warping” religion: “As people of faith, we are summoned to push back against those who try to distort our religion—any religion—for their own nihilistic ends.”
But Obama, like most Christians, is the one who is distorting his religion. In the bible, his own deity actually uses the word “terror” to describe his intentions:

Final Vote Saturday On Whether Proposal Will Appear On Primary Ballot
Texas GOP leaders are set to vote Saturday on whether to place a measure on the March 1 ballot in favor of seceding from the Union.
The proposal cleared the Texas Republican Party's Resolutions Committee on Friday and is set for a vote by the 40-member State Republican Executive Committee on Saturday.
If it passes, the resolution would place a non-binding measure on the primary ballot in favor of secession, and one recent poll suggests that GOP voters would approve it.
"If the federal government continues to disregard the constitution and the sovereignty of the State of Texas, the State of Texas should reassert its status as an independent nation," the resolution states.
