Air France flight attendants, furious at being ordered to wear headscarves in Tehran, say they will refuse to fly to the Iranian capital when the airline resumes the service later this month.
Female members of flight crews have been ordered to cover their hair once they disembark in Tehran and unions are demanding that the flights be made voluntary for women.
The resumption of a thrice-weekly service between Paris and Tehran, planned for April 17 after an eight-year break, follows a thaw in relations since Iran agreed to dismantle large sections of its nuclear programme.
Iranian women have been forced by law to cover their hair or face stiff fines or even imprisonment since 1979.

LA man accused of killing son because he was gay

CNN) — A 69-year-old man shot dead his adult son in Los Angeles this week because his son was gay, according to prosecutors.
Shehada Khalil Issa was charged with premeditated murder.
He had previously threatened to kill his son, Amir Issa, 29, because he was gay, according to Los Angeles County prosecutors.
Police responded to a 911 call Tuesday and arrived at the family home in the North Hills neighborhood in Los Angeles.
Officers found the body of the son outside their home and his mother's body inside the home. Prosecutors allege that the elder Issa fired a shotgun that killed his son.
The LAPD is still investigating what happened to the victim's mother, who was not identified.
Investigators told the Los Angeles Daily News Issa had initially said he found his dead wife in the bathroom of their house and had shot his son in self-defense after being threatened with a knife.
Later, Issa made "incriminating statements" and was subsequently charged with murder. A detective told the paper: "It was a horrible family tragedy."
Issa is being held without bail and could face life in prison without the possibility of parole.
He will be arraigned on April 11.

Muslim Woman Lied About Being Slashed In Face And Called ‘Terrorist’ (UPDATE)

Muslim woman lied about an assailant in Manhattan who slashed her face and called her a terrorist, police said early on Friday.
The woman initially claimed that she was walking near Wall Street during rush hour on Thursday when a man came up behind her, grabbed her arm, and slashed a 2-inch gash into her cheek.
“She reported that when he slashed her, he made a statement to the effect that she was a terrorist, and he continued to flee northbound on Broadway,” NYPD Assistant Chief William Aubry said at the time.
But after police could find no witnesses or footage of the incident, the 20-year-old student admitted that she cut herself, according to the New York Daily News.

Pakistan bombing: Suspects, arms seized after attack on Christians kills 72

Lahore, Pakistan (CNN) — Security forces, hunting for suspects in the deadly Easter Sunday bombing targeting Christians in a Lahore park, raided locations in three cities overnight and arrested suspected terrorists, a military spokesman said Monday on Twitter.
No details were given on who had been arrested or what role -- if any -- they may have played in the bombing, which killed at least 72 people and injured 341 others, Punjab province Chief Secretary Khizer Hyat said Monday.
Twenty-four children were among the dead, according to Punjab province police.
A splinter group of the Pakistani Taliban, Jamat-ul-Ahrar, claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it had targeted Christians. The group vowed more such attacks.

American Couple Confirmed Dead In Brussels Attacks

LOS ANGELES, March 26 (Reuters) - An American husband and wife missing since the suicide bombings in Brussels have been confirmed to have died in the attacks, according to family members and their employers.
Justin and Stephanie Shults, Belgium residents originally from Tennessee and Kentucky, were last seen dropping off her mother at the Brussels airport shortly before the check-in area was rocked by a powerful explosion on Tuesday, one of three blasts that took at least 31 lives.
“Today we learned from Stephanie Shults’ family that she and her husband, Justin, were among those killed in the attack on the Brussels airport,” Mars Inc, Stephanie Shults’ employer, said on its Facebook page.
“We are mourning the loss of our colleague and friend. Our hearts and thoughts are with their families, and with all those who are suffering during this terrible time,” the company said.
Justin Shults’ brother, Levi Sutton, remembered the slain man in a post on Twitter.
“He was smart and kind and generous. I never met a single person who didn’t like him. He worked hard his whole life and achieved goals that most could only dream about,” Sutton said in the post.

Iraq Stadium Bombing: ISIS Claims Responsibility For Explosion That Left Dozens Dead

BAGHDAD — Iraqi officials say the death toll from a suicide bombing at a soccer stadium that was claimed by the Islamic State group has climbed to 41, with another 105 people wounded.
The security and public health officials provided the updated toll Saturday on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief reporters.
The bombing took place Friday during a match in the small stadium in the city of Iskanderiyah, 30 miles (50 kilometres) from the capital, Baghdad. IS claimed the attack, saying it had targeted Shiite militiamen.
The extremist group has lost ground in recent months in Iraq and Syria, but has struck back with a series of large attacks targeting civilians. IS claimed this week's attacks in Brussels, which killed 31 people.

proposing serious solutions - more than the standard - we stand with the victims, but will not be terrorized words.
Innocent people are being slaughtered by strangers and even by acquantances that suddenly become radicalized through the internet or becoming more devout. Cruz and trump are proposing extreme measures that will attract people who are becoming desperate and weary of being targets. If our decent leaders don't do something that starts to work, I'm afraid indecent leaders like Trump are going to become president in November. then I fear for our planet.
