About DRI

In my my college years I was a Democrat. I gradually voted more Republican than Democrat because of the economic failures of the Carter years (oil prices, gas rationing, trying to buy a house with 19% interest rates and rate of overall deflation destroying my parents savings. In the mid-late eighties became an independent and remain that to this day because of my distrust of the establishment of both parties. Socially liberal, fiscally moderate, anti-interventionist in other countries affairs unless our vital interests, directly threatened. For fair trade not free trade. Against bank and large financial institution consolidation. Against large corporations. Against large government bureaucracies. Would prefer to see many smaller parties that represent people rather than two large parties than feel they are almost immune from public interest. Long time lurker but could not join until I retired because of my previous job.
