wouldn't you be tempted to switch to the candidate with the momentum and supporter enthusiasm, who wins in purple states instead of just the deep south?

I think Trump attacking Bernie would ricochet back at him.
Hillary could deflect some of it because she's a woman, but it wouldn't take long for some serious two-way mudslinging.
