If Senator Lee tested positive and he met with Amy Coney-Barrett on Tuesday....

doesn't that mean she needs to quarantine for 14 days?

Hey again Georgia residents and others in the know....

I heard a summary on NPR yesterday about Kelly Loeffler's crimes. Wow....What a disgrace she is....

I'm seeing in recent polls that Raphael Warnock has pulled ahead. I found out on DU (when I asked another question about Georgia) that this year in Georgia there's a special election and a jungle election.

My question is this: Have there been a significant number of commercials in the state for Warnock as well as anything giving bullet points (or whatever they call it these days) about Loeffler's corrupt history?

Thanks to anyone to can give me some feedback.

(I also posted this in General Discussion).

I've been trying to get a factual answer

on this question:

If The House were to start impeachment proceedings on say Bill Barr (or a President) there's some kind of rule in The Senate that currently exists that the calendar has to be cleared and impeachment would take precedent thereby delaying a Supreme Court nominee. I then read/heard that McConnell could simply sign paperwork that would eliminate that rule.

Do any of my fellow DU'ers have any definitive information on this scenario?

Thank you for your input....

I just saw it on a PBS posting.....

I enjoyed the CRAP out of the Emmy's tonight!

And before anyone says this post is out of place, it was as political as I've ever seen, and I frickin' LOVED it. The best part was the last acceptance speech by the creator/producer for the Best Drama show, Succession (For those who haven't seen this show, it's about a family of billionaires -the father, step-mother, and his adult kids) who are so f'upped it's disgusting. My understanding is it's tailored after the Murdoch's. Here's was the creator/producer said:

"For being robbed of the opportunity to spend this time with our peers and with our cast and crew, I think I'd like to do a few 'unthank yous': Unthank you to the virus for keeping us apart this year, unthank you to President Trump (personally I NEVER refer to him in that manner but I want to get what he said word for word) for his crummy and uncoordinated response, unthank you to all the nationalist and quasi-nationalist governments in the world who are doing exactly the opposite of what we need right now, and unthank you to all the media moguls who do so much to keep them in power - so unthank you."

Georgia residents (or others in the know)...

I'm trying to figure out who the Senate candidates are and what are the current polling numbers....

This is what I need clarity on:

Raphael Warnock (D) Vrs. Kelly Loeffler (R) ?

Jon Ossoff (D) Vrs. David Perdue (R) ?

Are there two seats in the running at the same time? Do I have the correct candidates? If so, does anyone know what the poll numbers are in these races? I've googled and am getting conflicting information.

Thanks for your help (I've also posted in General Discussion).

I'm sending an email to my friends regarding the Senate races....

I have a very progressive circle of friends and we're more like family than friends -we're LGBTQ- So when I say that, I'm being literal. We're all from different states and have called California home for 25-30 years. We spend holidays together, are aware of what's going on in everyone's lives like brothers and sisters, and are each others' emergency people. One of us got Cancer last year and we were the ones at the hospital during the surgery, took her to Chemo, and I stayed with her at her place for over two weeks. Some of us are single, some married, some coupled, etc.

I'm laying out this information because I'm the one in the group they call when something happens politically and they have questions. They also share with other friends and co-workers what they know. I'm going to send them an email regarding which Senate races would best be served by their contributions. Some will donate money, some will make calls, etc.

Here's my question: Is there a site in which I can go that will give me the latest polling numbers? I've kept up with the races that look like we have a chance to flip but I know that things can change regularly. For example, from what I've seen Doug Jones is WAY behind in Alabama so it doesn't seem like that particular race would reap rewards for the Dems. It looks like Susan Collins is 12 points behind Sarah Gideon; and the latest I've seen is that Jaime Harrison and Lindsey Graham are tied.

When I send them the email, I'd like to add what the latest poll numbers are.

Thank you to anyone who can give me some feedback...

About Upthevibe

I've been a member of DU since the very beginning....after that horrible fiasco - the sElection of 2000. My first user name was Lindsey, then I changed it to Nirvana555, and now it's Upthevibe. I had devices crash and I ended up having to change my user name. I've never been one to make a whole lot of original posts, but I consider myself a very active member in that I come to DU almost every day and read the wonderfully informative threads. I can't imagine what life would have been like over the past two decades without DU!
