FIRED UP AND READY TO GO!!!!!

I'm about to really kick into overdrive with my VotoLatino volunteering efforts. I'm taking a leave of absence from work to hit Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona, Colorado, and Nevada to turn out the Latino vote in a way that hasn't been seen!! We are also ensuring that registrations are filled out correctly and ensuring that people know the laws of their state for voter ID and a number to call if someone tries it with foolishness. The stakes are too high. Its time to get into overdrive because this is going to be won on the ground and I'm going to work as passionately as I did in 2008 and 2012 for President Obama.

LETS DO THIS BABY!!!!

I think that Hillary's speech was just MEH

Ahhhh-MEH-zing THAT IS!!!! (Ok that was lame I admit it)

That woman, that goddess displayed the entire arsenal that makes her the most qualified person in history as far as I'm concerned to run for the Presidency of the United States. She laid out her intelligence, policy mind, showed the personal side, gave specifics, and threw some delicious shade at that orange bumpkin Donald Trump. I'm so proud of her. She was FANTASTIC!!! Onward to the WHITE HOUSE BABY!!!!! CLINTON PART 2: BIGGER AND BETTER!!!!!

Last night it really hit me (and hit me HARD) that its almost the end of the Obama Presidency

I have re-watched the DNC Obama intro film at least 5 times. Cried each time.

U2's City of Blinding Lights was a song I have always loved and even going back to listen to that song in its entirety because I hadn't heard it in awhile....tears. Him coming out to that song to that crowd and those cheers. Just tears man. Tears streaming down my face.

And then rewatching the speech and at the end where he talks about how we picked him up and he hopes he's picked us up too. OMG. There was an increasing sadness this year knowing it was his last year in office, but last night was the first time it hit me like a ton of bricks. And I'm crying as I'm even sitting here talking about it. I know a lot of people get what I"m talking about. I sobbed like a baby for 15 minutes in 2008 after I voted for him and it honestly wasn't even mostly for him, but what he represented and more so that older people who lived through segregation and Jim Crow who never thought they'd have the opportunity to vote for a Black President had the opportunity to do so. I wept for the older people in my family who lived through that segregation and never thought they'd live to see the moment. I wasn't even sure he would win at that point but it took me 15 minutes to stop crying and to gather myself and drive off.

So its not an exaggeration when I say there is going to be a major mourning period for many people when he leaves office because of what his Presidency represented, and for the man that he is. That youthful exuberance, his connection with people, especially kids, and what Michelle Obama represented for women and girls, especially women and girls of color. Taking the politics completely out of it, just their representation and watching Sasha and Malia blossom and grow before our very eyes.

So last night for me was a mix of pride, happiness, and sadness. I think its the stage of grief and I think I needed that good cry last night and crying today to help me get to acceptance. It has been one of my greatest life joys that I voted for the man twice but all good things must come to an end, and this is the end. But I look forward to the next chapter of the Obama journey and can't wait to see his library in Chicago when it opens. Thank you Mr. President. I love you!!

Will someone please explain to me what RULE the DNC broke?

I don't give a shit about lifelong Democrats emailing about their favorability of another lifelong Democrat as opposed to someone who joined the party within the past year. Now the ones about Taco Bowls and talking about a plan to challenge Bernie Sanders religion? Absolutely reprehensible, but was that a plan put in action? WHAT RULES DID THE DNC BREAK?! What "rigging" occurred?

I appreciate Bloomberg's speech but still take issue with him for supporting Stop and Frisk in NY

I appreciate his speech and like Hillary's support of the Crime Bill, this is an issue that I would rather was not part of his legacy. You want to talk about one of the reasons people of color, particularly African Americans and Latinos have a deep distrust of the police? Stop and Frisk is one of those reasons. A horrible program that targeted people through profiling.

WHO in the hell is this woman in the red on CNN panel right now?

She always has to throw water on everything. She made the same point I made about a lot of Americans hurting but she can't compliment A THING!!!! I get she's for the other team but you can tell the woman to the left of her is sick of her shit.

I agree with MSNBC commentary right now on how Obama's speech plays to most outside that hall

It was a great and optimistic speech but yes I agree that I wish someone would acknowledge that while great strides have been made that there are a lot of people hurting out there, who do have concerns about the growing global Isis threat, that aren't making ends meet, that are struggling with college debt. Obama kind of alluded to it briefly in terms of more work to be done, but with a right track/wrong track being where it is, it does lend to the belief that there is a bubble that too many DC insiders live in. I'm not criticizing Obama at all. That was an out of the ballpark speech and necessary for the sitting and outgoing President to say yes we are already great and there's still stuff left to do. But there should be more acknowledgment that there is a sentiment out there that for whatever reason exists. The blue collar worker needs to hear that. The acknowledgment that while yes we did come off the ledge that there is still much more work to be done and that because of these issues, we need a steady hand, a President with the temperment to handle those decisions.

I don't know. I get what Chris Matthews and *gulp* what Michael Steele were saying.

Its great that Dems have such a deep bench, but at end of the day, HRC must bring it home tomorrow

It is THE most important speech of her long, storied, successful political career and she ALONE must sell it. I have faith!! Lets go Hillary!!!!
