Artists paint Democratic donkeys for Democratic National Convention ..few more donkeys

http://www.mainlinemedianews.com/articles/2016/06/29/main_line_suburban_life/news/doc576c42604d1e1716609848.txt

A colorful herd of 57 painted donkeys in a Philadelphia warehouse awaits its debut. The fiberglass donkeys, each painted by an artist, will be scattered around the city in time form the Democratic National Convention in July.

Ed Rendell, the former governor and Philadelphia mayor, who is Philadelphia Host Committee chairman, came up with the idea. Rendell, who was on hand for the donkeys’ unveiling to the press on Thursday, explained that delegates from the 50 states, six territories and Washington D.C. suggested symbols from their areas and also signed off on the artists’ final designs.

“We’re really excited,” said Rendell. The city is ready for the convention with transportation, lodging and security in place. “I think we’ll have a great convention,” he said. “We’re optimistic. It’s a great opportunity for the city to shine.”

Rendell was pleased that even the Union League, “the bastion of Republican heritage in this town, agreed to take a Democratic donkey.”

Love this ......so cool the love of art....at the Democratic Convention.....

Music’s A-list delivers..........for gun control....

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3656548/Music-s-list-delivers-lecture-gun-control-surviving-Beatles-Barbra-Streisand-J-Lo-Katy-Perry-Shakira-Britney-joining-forces.html

More than 180 members of the music industry are voicing support for the Democrats' efforts in Congress to pass gun control measures, courtesy of Billboard magazine.

The editors of the publication reached out to the people they covered asking them to sign an open letter to Congress asking for two measures – expanded background checks and banning people on the no fly list from buying guns – to be passed.

Joan Jett was the first to sign the letter, quickly followed by Lady Gaga.

Soon, the remaining members of the Beatles – Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr – had signed on, along with Hillary Clinton supporters Barbra Streisand, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry and Demi Lovato and pop princesses Shakira and Britney Spears.

Great my favorite Beatles and many more signed on with Hillary,,,,

John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono signed the letter too. She had personal experience with gun violence as Lennon was murdered by gunfire in 1980

All Media Hell Will Break Loose Against Hillary If Donald Is Replaced

The media have long had it in for Hillary Clinton. They’ve shown a demonstrable pattern of formulating negative narratives in an attempt to derail her campaign. And they’re very restless with a race that she looks so capable of winning. We need to be prepared for what will come if Donald is pushed out of the race, because it won’t be pretty.

I was thrilled to see how outstanding Hillary’s campaign rollout was for a number of reasons, not least of which is this: There is a very real chance that Donald will not be the Republican nominee on Election Day.

Nothing in her political career has ever been handed to Hillary; she’s always had to fight for it – and she’s had to fight harder than the average politician, by virtue of the uniquely personal animosity for her expressed by large swaths of the traditional media.

Whatever she’s doing is portrayed as wrong. Consider this history: In 2008, Hillary announced her candidacy following an enormous number of pieces in the media about how she must run and end our long national nightmare of Republican governance. And, while she was at it, make history as the first female president. Right after she announced, then came the articles about how she felt entitled to the presidency, that she expected to be “coronated,” that she was part of a dynasty and needed to go away. Within months, there was enormous pressure for Hillary to drop out of the Democratic Primary, even when she still had a decent chance of winning the nomination.

The Republicans will stop at nothing to take control ...of our Dem Party,of course she could beat any (R)

All Berned Out: ‘Sour Grapes’ Sanders, It’s Time to Give it Up

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/06/18/1540201/-All-Berned-Out-Sour-Grapes-Sanders-It-s-Time-to-Give

What the Bernie Sanders followers loved best about him was that he was a principled non-politician. Authentic. No ego. When he entered the contest, he was at a 3% support – mirroring the percentage of people who even knew who he was, a Senator from a tiny state whose population, 625,000, is less than half that of Nassau County, `one of the least diverse demographics in the country.
He has been an independent ever since he couldn’t win election as a Democrat, and has managed not to run afoul of the NRA ever since he lost his first campaign.

Now, after he has been decisively beaten in total votes — by nearly 4 million, 16,554,911 (55.6%) to 12,744,268 (42.8%) - and in pledged delegates 2219 to 1879. And even though Clinton beat Sanders in the biggest states and only really lost in the states which held open primaries (meaning those not registered as Democrats could vote) and caucuses (the most undemocratic of primary processes), even so, Sanders is demanding concessions from the Democratic Party in exchange for him stopping bashing the presumptive nominee and the first woman to be the nominee of a major party, Hillary Clinton.

In essence, Sanders is inflicting his “political revolution” on the Democratic party, which up until now has treated him with extraordinary respect and deference – giving him chairmanship of important Senate committees, for example.

Now, he is demanding – extorting – changes in how the Democrats run their primary – essentially to be more like the Republicans (and how did that go this year?) – eliminating Super Delegates, opening up all primaries to non-Democrats, and, oh yes, removing Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz from her position as DNC chair.

Time for him to go back to the senate or retire.........

Oprah Winfrey endorses Hillary Clinton: ‘I’m with her’

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/oprah-winfrey-endorses-hillary-clinton-article-1.2676149

Hillary Clinton is getting something bigger and better than a free car: a vote from the Queen of All Media.

Talk-show mogul Oprah Winfrey endorsed the presumptive Democratic nominee's presidential bid Wednesday night, invoking Clinton’s campaign slogan: “I’m with her.”

“I really believe that is going to happen,” the Weight Watchers ambassador told Entertainment Tonight of a woman being elected President. “It’s about time that we make that decision.”

“Regardless of your politics, it’s a seminal moment for women,” Winfrey added. “What this says is, there is no ceiling, that ceiling just went boom! It says anything is possible when you can be leader of the free world.”

SANDERS MUST CONCEDE AND ENDORSE HILLARY CLINTON IF HE WANTS TO SPEAK AT THE DEMOCRATIC CONVENTION

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/06/16/1539301/-SANDERS-MUST-CONCEDE-AND-ENDORSE-HILLARY-CLINTON-IF-HE-WANTS-TO-SPEAK-AT-THE-DEMOCRATIC-CONVENTION

Tonights episode talked about concessions Bernie Sanders would most likely receive even if he stays in the race until the Democratic Convention. 1. Democrats will probably get rid of Super Delegates. Also, the Democrats will most likely get rid of Caucuses to make everyones vote be counted, not just those that can attend Caucuses. Same Day Voting and Open Primaries are determined by the state so that is not set at the Democratic Convention.

The most important thing you will learn in this clip is that THERE ARE NO CONCESSION SPEECHES AT THE DEMOCRATIC CONVENTION AND THERE NEVER HAS BEEN! So, Unless Bernie Sanders concedes and Endorses Hillary Clinton then he will not get to speak until Thursday after the vote on Wednesday night where the Candidate is elected. This is the way it has always been and this will not change.

Joy Reid talks about Bernie Sanders coming in pretty late to the game after thinking he would win California and have more leverage. She also discusses the issue of the removal of Debbie Wasserman Schultz and why it most likely will not happen. Also,Gov. Ed Rendell discusses the fact that there are no concession speeches. Sanders does not and will not get to make a speech or plea to the Super Delegates before the vote of all Pledged and Super Delegates. Watch the video below and it explains how speeches work at the Democratic Convention

If this is true I didn't know....this

The Sanders wind-down begins

The walls are crumbling and Bernie Sanders knows it.

Barack Obama made his support for Hillary Clinton official on Thursday. So did Vice President Joe Biden and liberal hero Sen. Elizabeth Warren. The major political groups surrounding Sanders are saying it’s time to unify.

The campaign is rapidly winding down around Sanders, the Senate gadfly-turned-unlikely revolutionary who outperformed everyone’s expectations, and he finally began to acknowledge it Thursday.

“We need real change in this country. And what people also understand is that no president, not Bernie Sanders, not anybody else, can do it alone,” he told roughly 3,000 supporters gathered near Washington’s RFK stadium on a hot evening, returning to his original stump speech about billionaires, the “corrupt campaign finance system,” and “the broken criminal justice system" without once mentioning Clinton or the Democratic Party’s convention.

“A little bit over a year ago we began this campaign. What the punditry thought is the campaign would not go very far. Well, here we are in mid-June and we’re still standing."

The signals that he now accepts the fact that he won’t be the party’s nominee were unmistakable.

The courtship letters his campaign had planned to send superdelegates have been put on hold. His go-to argument — that he polls better against Donald Trump than Clinton — has been scrubbed from his public statements. There are mass staff departures, and his digital firm set up a new site to help laid off staffers find their next gig.

Even his Senate relationship rebuilding effort has begun.

I knew it would happen in time......

Add one more: Uncle Joe endorses Clinton

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/06/10/1536882/-Add-one-more-Uncle-Joe-endorses-Clinton

Vice President Joe Biden backed Hillary Clinton on Thursday, hours after President Barack Obama issued his own endorsement of the former secretary of state.

Biden, speaking Thursday night at the American Constitution Society convention a few blocks from the White House, didn't squarely endorse Clinton. But he made his preferences clear, saying in an aside during remarks on the need to fill the Supreme Court vacancy left by the death of Justice Antonin Scalia, "whoever the next president is, and in my view, God willing, it'll be Secretary
Clinton."

Obama, Elizabeth Warren, Bill Clinton: Hillary’s Squad Suits Up Against Donald Trump

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/06/09/barack-obama-elizabeth-warren-bill-clinton-hillary-s-squad-suits-up-against-donald-trump.html

The Republicans have one candidate. The Democrats suddenly have a whole team of the heaviest hitters ready to pound him.
Eight years after they faced off in a bruising primary campaign, President Barack Obama endorsed his one-time primary opponent—former Senator and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

And, to paraphrase Clinton, the Democrats just put a village to work against Donald J. Trump. Led by a powerful trifecta of elders— Barack, Hillary and Bill— the Democrats have two jobs: Coalesce and energize support among non-white voters and introduce the country to the real Trump on the campaign trail.

Squad goals.

Not only will Obama will help Clinton (and her husband) pitch and mend fences in the black community, he’ll build enthusiasm in places where she could not find it. Clinton, who supported her husband’s 1994 Crime Bill, was repeatedly challenged on the campaign trail to defend calling young black boys “super predators.” She never found a good answer and seems to exacerbate the issue. It may well come up again, but this
time she will be flanked by President Obama, the First Lady and, likely, former Attorney General
