Harvard Study Confirms Anti-Clinton Media Bias.
From Daily Kos:
A new report released this week by Harvard Kennedy Schools Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics, and Public Policy found Clinton has received far more negative coverage than any other candidate in the race thus far. The study was based on an analysis of news statements from CBS, Fox, the Los Angeles Times, NBC, the New York Times, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post.
Far more negative? More like insanely more negative! The study found that 84 percent of Clintons coverage has been negative in tone compared to just 43 percent for Trump and 17 percent for Sanders. Even though many of us would just assume forget about Rafael Cruz at this stage, its notable to point out that he received fairly balanced press coverage in comparison to his opponent. So while the media insured their playing field was much more leveled, they didnt afford us the same luxury.
Judging by the data this study reveals, the media has done a true disservice to the left thus far with highly slanted, selective coverage managing to paint an inaccurate picture of both Clinton and Sanders. Why? Well, apparently it was more important to make the entire primary race more exciting by setting up a false David vs. Goliath narrative.

Calif. Shuts GOP Out From Senate Race With 2 Dems Advancing To Runoff
Source: TPM
LOS ANGELES (AP) In a historic first, California voters Tuesday sent two Democrats, both minority women, to a November runoff for the state's open U.S. Senate seat.
The matchup between state Attorney General Kamala Harris and 10-term Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez marks the first time since voters started electing senators a century ago that Republicans will be absent from California's general election ballot for the Senate. The outcome reaffirms the GOP's diminished stature in the nation's most populous state.
The two were among 34 candidates seeking the seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Barbara Boxer, a liberal favorite first elected a generation ago, in 1992.
Under California election rules, only two candidates the top vote-getters advance to the November election.

With Hillary making history in California, it's easy to overlook the other historic development in the State's elections.

The meeting, scheduled at Sanders' request, will take place just two days after Tuesday's pivotal primary contests, where Hillary Clinton secured the majority of pledged delegates in the Democratic race and clinched the party's presidential nomination.

Sanders wants to meet with the neoliberal third way corporate shill...
My guess is they will discuss Obama's "disastrous" trade policies. Why else would Bernie want to meet with Obama?

Trump: If I’m Elected, GOP Will Become A 'Worker’s Party'
Source: TPM
Five, 10 years from nowdifferent party, Trump told Bloomberg Politics during an extended sit-down folded within the magazines profile on Republican National Committee Chair Reince Priebus. Youre going to have a workers party."
snip
Trump's comments immediately caught attention on social media, given that "worker's party is a term adopted by many left-wing socialist political organizations. The term has also been used by right-wing groups like the National Socialist German Worker's Party, or Nazi Party.
In the Bloomberg interview, Trump outlined a new vision for the GOP vastly different from the laissez-faire, hawkish, inclusive-to-minorities plan the party set forth after losing the 2012 presidential election. Trumps Republican Party would restrict free trade, protect Social Security and push the U.S. to turn inwards.

I don't know about the Hillary and Bernie bashers, but this is getting too close for comfort for me.
Time to stop playing games and face the ugly.
Liberal media turns on Sanders
http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/280453-liberal-media-turns-on-sandersThe Sanders campaign has also taken hits from progressive CNN contributor Sally Kohn, who endorsed the Vermont senator from the stage at a massive rally in New York City just before the Empire States April primary.
Kohn wrote an article published Wednesday for Time magazine that was headlined, I felt the Bern but the Bros are extinguishing the flames.
The fact that the criticism is coming from left-leaning sources makes it more difficult for Sanders supporters to rebut it.
Just goes to show: not all liberals are Bernie supporters, and not all Bernie supporters are liberals.
I am not concerned about their threats of sitting General Elections out, or voting for Trump. The vast majority of liberals are, or will be out of the Bernie bubble soon.
Bernie Sanders Supporters Unleash Sexist, Nasty Attacks On Nevada’s Dem Chair
Source: Huffington Post
The worst bits of this surfaced on Saturday at the Nevada Democratic Party convention, when a near-riot broke out. The state party chairwoman, Roberta Lange, has been deluged with threatening and sexist voicemails and text messages in the days since.
------------------------------
Sanders supporters blamed Lange for undermining their efforts, and they lashed out accordingly. Some of the reaction was reported Monday by The New York Times.
But that was just the tip of the iceberg. The Huffington Post obtained additional texts and voicemails sent to Lange, as well as footage from inside the Paris Las Vegas Hotel, where the convention was held. The texts and calls, which came after Langes phone number and address were posted on Twitter, threatened violence and contained sexist epithets. One person threatened to buy a home near Lange, while another encouraged her to prepare for hell.
---------------------------------------------
The Sanders campaign has responded to the threats by saying it doesnt condone violence, as well as by encouraging Democrats to figure out a way to welcome people who have been energized and excited by his campaign into the party. Some Democrats have deemed this an insufficient attempt to tamp down the rhetoric and emotions.
But its not entirely clear whether Sanders is willing to go further. He ducked a question on the Las Vegas incident while on the trail Tuesday. His campaign didnt immediately return a request for comment for this piece. And Lange, in an interview with MSNBC on Tuesday, said she had not heard from the Sanders campaign.
---------------------------
The taverns Facebook page and website were overtaken by people demanding that Lange be fired. Someone created a phony Facebook account for Lange that accused her of scurrilous stuff as Gallagher put it and claimed her husband had committed crimes against children. Someone managed to alter the Google search results so it appeared the tavern was permanently closed.
Ive been in politics for 50 years now, said Gallagher, who ran for Congress in 2004. And I think Bernie is losing control of his people. These are folks out there who have no concept about rational political discourse. Now a lot of Bernies folks are really good friends of mine and theyre embarrassed by this. But there are crazies out there that are truly a little scary.

The Republican Senate Majority Is Collapsing Around Mitch McConnell
Source: Talking Points Memo
Since the cycle started, Democrats have bet they could net four or five seats with a specific eye on Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Illinois and Florida, but the prospect of Cruz or Trump on the top of the ticket is making them more bullish.
Now, Democrats are seriously looking at expanding their map to North Carolina, Missouri, Arizona, Indiana and even Iowa states with strong incumbents once viewed as hard to knock off. In Iowa, Democrats successfully recruited former state agricultural secretary and lieutenant Gov. Patty Judge to challenge six-term incumbent Sen. Chuck Grassley.

With all the news focused on Hillary, this one appears to have been lost in the news cycle.
For New York Democrats, this is a very big deal indeed!
