Let's make one thing absolutely clear: the Obama administration is the most progressive

administration since FDR, and in many respects ever. Period, not a hint of a question about it.

He got us out of the worst recession in three generations, and he did it in half the time FDR did. He enacted the most sweeping financial reform legislation in 75 years, appointing Liz Warren the first EVER consumer watchdog. He reduced unemployment by two thirds and the national deficit by half. Obamacare is the most sweeping health care legislation EVER. Legislatively, he was the most successful champion of minority rights, women's rights, gay rights and workers' rights EVER. He enacted the most environmental protection measures EVER.

He didn't just talk progressive, he got progressive shit done! To call his "business model" a failure is fucking ridiculous. It is nothing less than revisionist history wrapped in fake news.

And while we are at it, let's give some credit to two other notable and accomplished progressives who were by Obama's side all that time: Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton.

On edit: Medicare may be the most sweeping health legislation ever, but Obamacare is damn close.

It's way too early, but if Sanders and/or Warren drop below 15% in NH, it's bad news for them.

Just now on Morning Joe: the crazier Trump acts, the better Biden looks

They were discussing the Iowa polls, but also went into the national angle. The country, their discussion went, is looking for some sense of stability that will allow America to recover from the Trump nightmare.

This is the Biden appeal in a nutshell, and no Democratic front runner comes close to projecting the needed sense of stability better than Biden. Couldn't have said it better myself.

I think it's time for Biden to drop out. He is behind the times. He is out of touch. He is against legalizing pot. He put a fat liar in his place. He is a third way neo-liberal. He cuddles to billionaires.

Did I miss anything?

Oh yeah, he consistently tops every national poll... yes, that's it! This is why he should drop out!

Kamala Harris goes on the veep shortlist -- even Biden's

Most pundits made two observations immediately after Kamala Harris dropped out of the Democratic primary this week.

One, as the only candidate of color to crack the top tier in 2019 or to qualify for the upcoming December debate, Harris’s departure would transform the visible ranks of what had once been the most diverse presidential primary field into an all-white affair.

And two, she could be a really good running mate for whoever winds up winning the nomination

She has always been my sentimental favorite, if not a pragmatic one. Her career is just beginning.

Joe Biden sees fundraising improvement after rough summer

Biden’s campaign would not say exactly how much he has raised since the end of September. But with roughly one month left before the current period ends, campaign manager Greg Schultz said in a memo provided to The Associated Press that Biden has already surpassed the $15.2 million net amount he raised across July, August and September.

The improvement comes at a costly juncture in the Democratic primary, as candidates sprint to get their message out and mobilize supporters ahead of the first-in-the-nation Iowa caucuses in February.

Schultz said online fundraising helped fuel the increase, which he attributed to discredited attacks that President Donald Trump has made against Biden and his son over their past dealings in Ukraine.

Trump has sought to implicate Biden and his son Hunter in the kind of corruption that has long plagued Ukraine. Hunter Biden served on the board of a Ukrainian gas company at the same time his father was leading U.S. diplomatic dealings with Kyiv under President Barack Obama. Although the timing raised concerns among anti-corruption advocates, there has been no evidence of wrongdoing by either the former vice president or his son.

“His campaign and special interest groups have spent millions of dollars airing ads to spread those same lies,” Schultz wrote. “This groundswell of support shows us — and Trump, and reporters, and anyone else watching — that his whole scheme is backfiring.”
