Does a 3rd party help or hurt us down ticket?

I am having to repost because last time people seemed to not read the post as it had nothing to do with DEMOCRATS voting for a third party...but instead us as Dems sniping votes from 3rd party people for our down ticket races. I am merely wondering if we face a liberal third party this election and Trump does not face one will it hurt or help us. I am wondering if a party like the green party helps us down ticket as it gets out people our party does not. I remember with Gore I had several hardcore environmental friends that did not vote for him because of a vote he did on a dam...but they still voted in the election (I think if Gore was not good enough to pull people from Nader no other democrat would have been good enough either, so it was not that some of these ever would have voted for the Dem ticket). My question is do these third parties help us in the House and Senate? Or do they not vote down ticket since they are not Democrats. I looked for statistics on if Perot or Nader hit down tickets..and in Florida Democrats did win the senate seat...and over all they won seats in the 2000 election.
The general rundown does not show the green picking up votes in the senate the Dems won with 51.04% (2,989,487)...
http://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/state.php?year=2000&fips=12&f=0&off=3&elect=0&class=1
Senate race... (sorry they don't display because of they want people to go to the main site)
http://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/img.php?type=map&year=2000&fips=12&st=FL&off=3&elect=0&class=1
But in the Presidential race the Green party picked up 1.63% and Gore had 2,912,253...which is less than the Senator got.
http://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/img.php?type=map&year=2000&fips=12&st=FL&off=0&elect=0
That shows that something does happen, but if they have their own people running in the down ticket race it may not help.

Indiana had low turn out for Dems, but not for Reps!.

Bernie always wins with higher turn out, but this one was record low. We did ABOUT 50% OF 2008 and the republicans did over 200% of 2008???

2008
McCain, John Sidney, III 320,308 77.62%
Huckabee, Michael Dale "Mike" 41,173 9.98%
Paul, Ronald Ernest "Ron" 31,611 7.66%
Romney, Mitt 19,581 4.74%

412,673

2016
Trump 583,462 53.2
Cruz 401,959 36.7
985,421

238.78%

vs

2008
Clinton, Hillary Rodham 646,253 50.56%
Obama, Barack Hussein 632,061 49.44%
1,278,314

2016
Sanders 332,516 52.5
Clinton 300,851 47.5
633,367

49.54%

BTW Dems got

64.27% of the votes the Republicans got.

That is wild.

Why the hate for Larry at the WHCD???

The general response from WHCD attendees and those who watched the event on TV has been generally negative. Detractors suggested Wilmore’s performance was a missed opportunity to draw viewers to his “Nightly Show,” which has struggled to match the audience of “The Colbert Report,” his predecessor in the 11:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday timeslot.

Everybody Seemed Pretty Mad at Larry Wilmore at the White House Correspondents' Dinner

The article is supportive of him but it is talking about how people were not amused.

I am ashamed by people's responses, they attacked him for using "nigga", which is nothing close to the "N-Word" since one is used by people in a term of affection and never existed back in the day...also they had the same rage when Obama used it. I think he used it to show solidarity and to say a bit of a F-you to the overly white room, pointing out to them that Obama was the first mother F-ing black president!

I found a new petition for our general election.

It sums up the feelings of many that I have been seeing on here. It may help Bernie supporters that feel they still need to vote for Hillary but hate the idea of holding their nose to do it (seems to apply to Trump or Cruz supporters too). I think this may help some to get through the pain of voting for the lesser of two evils IF it ever boils down to having to do that. The very issue was mentioned by a strong Bernie supporter about what the effect of pulling the lever for HRC would have on them in the GE. I think if the HRC camp is serious about building bridges to make us whole again and they support this, it could be seen as a unifying gesture from the HRC and GOP camps to those that vote on their candidates based on policy and not just brand loyalty.

The 2016 General Election may be between two presidential candidates with the lowest favorability ratings in US history.

We the People of the United States of America know it is our duty to uphold this great democracy and vote...but with that being said the two choices are so unfavorable that even holding our noses to vote may not be enough. We are requesting that at the entrance to all polling stations there be access to antiemetic (antinausea) pills with lead free drinking water to assist with taking. We are aware these pills may not work for everyone or will take time to set in, so we are also requesting that travel-sickness bags be outfitted in every booth and that bio-hazard bins be present for disposal of used bags. We also request that all mail-in ballots be sent with antiemetic pills and a travel sickness bag. All resulting bio-waste should then be sent back to each responsible National Committee.

This is a wake up call for all of the fake and real posts about switching to Hillary, that are telling others who have conviction in their choice for Bernie to stop pressuring them. You are not helping, you are basically dismissing their problems...and if you have ever been in a relationship you know that dismissing your partner's grievances does not end well EVER.

As a 100% real Bernie voter, where is why I will be supporting Hillary.

When I started paying attention to this election I tried to dismiss reports of Bernie Bros and the data theft from the Hillary database since I believed in Bernie. As time wen on and the Bernie people screamed "English only" at the Nevada caucus I just chalked that up to a few bad apples. I listened to the stories about him supposedly working on civil rights in his early years, but those turned out to be false. Then as it was clear that the southern vote was being dismissed along racial lines I started getting a bit upset that more was not being said by Bernie supporters for apologizing. The election dragged on and Bernie won the white areas up north, but I figured he would get some more minority groups once they heard his story. I ignored the stories about voter irregularities since it seemed we still had some sour grapes in our party. When we hit NY and Hillary made a few minor statements about Bernie, but then he said she was not qualified I started to think he may be untrustworthy. He then left for vacation in the Vatican and did not really see the pope. From that point I took a look at the two and realized that Hillary and Bernie were almost identical in policies. I started to see that while Bernie could get some cash from some people to promise free stuff, only Hillary seemed to care about minorities and even the Jewish communities overseas. I still loved Bernie though and I am a hardcore socialist. That is when I saw this video of him speaking...

Video: https://goo.gl/SsAhv

And that is what changed my mind. Trust me, as a 100% real Bernie supporter that has always followed him, this video made me realize that he is too much of a pro war person to be a real socialist. Don't go calling me a liar, and popping off about my views if you are a Bernie supporter until you have watched the video and see where I am coming from.

NPR interview is League of Women's

Did any one else here it, I think it was Roberts. I cracked up when she asked the lady about the Woman card with Hillary and how she had heard that younger females did not support Hillary. They lady then did some inexpressive verbal gymnastics to say, younger females do like Berine, but compared to males they support Hillary at a higher rate. Yes if 83% of younger males want Bernie, but 80% of younger females want him...then you could say that statement and be "correct". She also went on to talk about playing the male card as "Having bigger hands". WTF does that even mean? I am pretty sure the male card would be something other than the size of your goods, would the female card be your bust size or something as shallow as that? I think a male card would have to be something that the male sex deals with more often? Not sure what it would be, perhaps dying younger or in being sent to die in wars more (the male's fault for not allowing a more open force). Since males are in more positions of authority I think this card would be harder to narrow down, but I am positive it is not linked to hand size.

Move a thread option?

Noticed many threads getting locked for off topic and it seems moving them would allow some people to keep their discussions active and also reduce the repost spam, saving a little space on the servers. Is this an option.

Also how meta can we get in a thread, is it jsut the OP that can't get meta? Or is is just meta that is negative about the forum? I often want to tell people to be careful on a post that is meta, but that in itself is meta to talk about meta. Or I want to start a topic how there is a bit too much sexism on the forum, but that gets marked meta? I am in meta prison and even the meta cat in my sig can't escape.

No the Party is not Uniting...beware of people parsing data to prove a false narrative.

Facts about the Harvard IOP Spring 2016 Poll

They have very favorable impressions of Bernie Sanders (54/31); fairly unfavorable impressions of Hillary Clinton (37/53) and extremely unfavorable impressions of Donald Trump (17/74.)

Sanders is Only Candidate with Net Positive Rating, Trump -20 With GOP. Senator Bernie Sanders is the only one of the five candidates with a net positive favorability rating. 54% of 18- to 29-year-olds rate Sanders favorably and 31% view him unfavorably (+23 favorable: Net). On the other hand, Donald Trump’s net favorability rating is -57. Among young Republicans, 37% view him favorably and 57% view him unfavorably (-20 unfavorable: Net).

Also this is not the newest sample, this last day for the poll was on April 3rd, 16 days (over two weeks) before NY voted, and before the scorched Earth attacks on Bernie and his supporters and the continued attacks this week...
The main sample data collection took place from March 18 through April 3.

People using the better is shows the DNC is WORSE off than before against the lead republican in youth votes and their enthusiasm.

Biggest issue is this is about a month old before Hillary's paid trolls and scorched earth, and when Bernie was doing much better.

Also compared to the last election with Obama, we are doing much worse by 16% that will even vote.
